Sky Watch Friday!

These were taken on different days, and at different times of day, hence a wide variation in color. But more than that... When my wife and I spot a sky event while driving, we like to put our sunglasses on and compare views. It seems we can catch more details and/or colors with our shades. So, in the bottom photo, I put my sunglasses over her camera lens to see how the picture would turn out.

  2. Those are great shots. I like the middle one the best just because of the cloud formation.
Great idea too with shooting pictures through your sun glasses. I will have to steady my hands and try that.

  3. Your billowing clouds are beautiful.

My Sky Watch Friday blog is at my Canon Pixels blog. If you have time I would appreciate your having a look at the sky peeking through the oak tree leaves.

  12. Three fantastic sky photos. I love the middle one best because of the bottoms of the clouds, and just the way they relate to the ground makes the area look enormous.

  16. I've notced that too... that I can see more dramatic detail in clouds through my sunglasses, but haven't tried taking a pic through them, although the thought has occurred to me.
I've tried shooting pics through my binoculars though, worked out quite well, considering....

  17. Sometimes I don't know if you are serious or just kidding. (Yes, maybe I'm a little slow!) I have to take my glasses off to take a picture so the sunglasses wouldn't work for me.
However you did it these are all nice pictures!

  32. Carver, after reading what you and you wife do with sunglasses, of course I had to try it. I did a post on it for Saturday entitled "Artful Saturday" giving you credit for the idea. Thanks so much for sharing. That was so cool & so much fun. I am gonna try different sunglasses too.
