another floral tragedy

Did you like my tragic flower poem? I have another:

. . .

I'm so glad, but not from brandy.

See the lion, oh so dandy,

most unwelcome on my landy,

torn from earth, and in my handy!

.

. . .

I'm guessing that there could be a book deal in dead flower poems, what do you think? ;-)

They're all over my backyard too, Shammy. I don't make a fuss about the lawn back there... just out front.

Only dead ones EG. :-)

I'll to your party Imac. What's on the grill?

Why thank-you, Nancy. I should seek out a book deal, right?

Yes, I do believe I have eaten them in salads. That's okay, just as long as they aren't choking out my front lawn, Shoebee.

Man, what a poem.

Craver you is one funny dude.

I bought some weed killer last year, and spread on my yard, and I wish i never did. Now I have a bunch of bare spots, where i killed the grass, and I think I even killed the dirt. I'm not a good sower of weed killer, let me tell you.

uh, no. Nice try though... :) Just kidding!

If you run out of the little beasties in your yard to remove, let me know, we can work out a deal!

Hahaha. We like this one better than the last. It rhymes. We're simple people.

So, I read this one, and thought, "Funny!", and then I figured I'd read the earlier one for more of the same. And what do I find? Really lovely stuff full of allegory and the like.

Well done, on both counts!

Take heart, Sandman. If that was weed killer (and not Roundup®), it was probably the weeds that killed the grass and stole the soil's nutrients, not the weed killer. What kind of weed killer was it? And have you taken soil samples for testing? It's not difficult, and they sell do-it-yourself kits cheap at hardware stores. Then, you can check for stuff like acidity in the soil and help the rest of the lawn get healthy again.

I have all kinds of weeds that I've been tugging at, and I'm at my wit's end! I just don't see how to get rid of all of them without chemicals or starting from scratch.

Oh TM, I wish there were more time to get the yard the way I like it. The big job is going to be my wife's veggie garden. I understand you've made good progress in your own yard, though.

Mrs. 2saint. (bowing low)

That makes my day, Suldog! Very kind words, Sir.

Thanks Craver. I'm gonna share all that with my wife, who is the expert with husbandry, not this husband.
