bird joke

Humor can be a little complicated for some to pull off. Sure, it looks easy when you see it on television, catch Jim Gaffigan or Brian Regan on Youtube or listen to Bill Cosby LP's. This little Downy Woodpecker just does not get it.

.

Woodpecker: Knock knock.

Me: Who's there?

Woodpecker: Knock knock.

Me: (sigh) Who's there?

Woodpecker: Knock knock...

.

Aaaargh!!! Little woodpecker, don't quit your day job! I don't know, maybe the little guy was confused because I was using flash under this tree. I don't usually use flash for birds, but the background was too bright... unlike Woody here, who was NOT too bright. I kid, of course. this was a very smart woodpecker. As woodpeckers go, he was probably in the bird division of Mensa. Knock knock...

Nice shots Craver.

I like how the Unknown comic -the guy with a brown paper bag over his head- does the knock knock joke.

He says, "Hey. how about we do a knock knock joke. Okay? Okay, you all start it."

"Knock Knock!"- the audience.

Unknown, "Who's there?"

I guess you have to be there.

I love woodpeckers. Amazing bird. One of God's great mysteries.

This is a wonderful shot. He looks good, even if he's not good at comedy.

This has to be the worst joke you have ever come up with Craver!! LOL!! I hope you are not thinking of quiting your day job? LOL!!

The Woodpecker might not be a comedian either but he is kind of cute!!

It makes you wonder how firmly their little bird brains are attached to the inside of their heads to deal with all that constant head banging doesn't it?
Love the pictures of little Rylan heading over the hill in your last post. Yes, I agree, it's a shame that little ones won't really remember much of their very early childhood. My little grandie Callum (2-1/2) is in Lexington Kentucky right now with his parents going to the World Equestrian Championships... and he probably won't remember any of it!

Excellent! Very nice picture and very nice post... I got to see some in France too and I kind of missed their knock knock knock ;-)

Thanks, Gaelyn. It took a lot of tries to catch him, because he spent most of the time pecking on the opposite side of my view. I missed a lot when trying to capture him peeking back at me.

I'll have to try that one this weekend, Sandman. Yes, there is a lot of creativity in their design. Imagine knocking hard enough to put holes in wood, but not suffering a concussion!

Thank you, George. It's different, but I am happy with how it turned out.

I get a twisted pleasure from telling bad jokes, Joan. One of these days I'll get it right, though. :-)

Shammy, I have suspected that one or two people might have had their brains in a lower region of their anatomy. Could that be the case with this bird?

Thank you, Chris. This little one was kind enough to wait for me to set up the tripod and mount a flash.

Gotta love those knock-knock jokes! Your woodpecker picture is great. I can't get one of mine lately. They are faster than I am.

That was the point, Mommanator. The bird can't tell a joke.

Too much pressure, Lime. My 11 year old son has started telling jokes, too. Oh, my poor wife. She has to put up with two of us, now.

Denise, I was surprised that it let me get this close, but it was hard to catch it on the near side of the branch.
