current events from craverville

Busy, busy, busy!  Lots going on lately, but not as much blogging as I would like.  The good news is that by God's grace, I've been exceptionally efficient at my job, despite insomnia and other recent health issues.   But outside of work, lots of other stuff has been carved out, so that I could give more attention to fewer priorities.

Look at this! Someone didn't think he needed sunblock at the pool, and now he resembles the Human Torch.  Ouch.

A sleep study... Wait a sec.  That's a misnomer.  "Mr. Craver, we're going to hook you up like Darth Vader and video-tape you through the night, now you just relax and go to sleep while these cables and tape pinch your skin, and our technician stares at you.  And here, put this mask on.  G'night."  What was I saying?  Oh yeah.  I did another (ahem) "sleep" study, but I won't know the results for a few weeks.

(yawn)  There's nothing left in me at night anymore.  Here I am babysitting my brother-in-law's three-pound puppy.  Chewbacca likes to be held a lot, and even swaddled.  I think I'm his favorite uncle.

What a CUTE puppy! What a privilege it must be to snuggle-sit that sweet baby!
My hubby and I spent the afternoon in a pool near Atlanta, GA, and I REMEMBERED the sunscreen. Like you, I have forgotten in the past, and it doesn't take but once doing that to "remember" foreverafter. I hope that you don't have fever or adverse reactions from that sunburn.
I KNOW that I wouldn't have slept a wink with eyes/wires watching me like that, Craver. Eyes wide open for me if I was wired like that!!! Hopefully, your sleeping problem(s) will be quickly diagnosed and you will have long and sweet dreams very soon. I'm glad to hear that your job performance is going great.
Our son-in-law is graduating from Trooper school (Georgia Highway Patrol) early in the morning near Atlanta. That's where hubby and I are tonight...Going to his graduation in the A.M. I read your blog on my phone and am sending this comment using these ittty bittty keys on the phone. Gonna stop now and hit "send" hoping that you feel better soon. God bless my friend, Craver.

Hi Craver Vii. We wish you well, hoping that your health problem/s will be taken care of very smartly.

I see we are both up with the play, by not being controlled by that stupid robot set-up.

Do you know how much I enjoy your visits, Jackie? It is like real neighbors or family when you drop in. You are a genuine blessing, Sister!

Congrats to your son-in-law. I hope that whenever I drive from Chicago, Illinois to Orlando, Florida, that he and I do not meet for business. ;-)

Which robot set-up are you talking about, Kiwi? Is it that word verification thing? Every once in a while I have to put that on, so that it curbs some of the spam.

Chewbacca is one lucky doggy to have an uncle like you! I sure am glad I'm not that human torch. EW!

Oh the many sides of Craver!
This redhead knows the value of sunscreen so I hope 'Mr. Human Torch' you learned this hard lesson. :)
I could never do a sleep study. I'd be paying for nothing because I don't think I'd sleep all night. Hope your results help.
That's a teeny tiny Chewbacca. Hope he's living up to that name.
All the best Carver!

Did you go to sleep in the sun my friend??.lol

Hope you soon get this sleep result back soon and get sorted, you must be very fed-up, which I guess makes it harder too.

Good luck.

Afriend of mine ended up having the test and he now has to sleep with a mask on at nights - it does help though.

I'm the lucky one, CameraGirl. Chewie has a gentle disposition and is is easy to spend time with.

Carletta, the sleep tech was satisfied that they gathered good information. I'm curious to know what that translates to.

The water felt so good that day, Imac. I should have connected the dots when the soles of my feet sizzled on the deck. At first, it was totally unthinkable that I could ever sleep with a mask, but after so many sleepless nights, I think I'm desperate enough to try it.

Nothing new to comment on but maybe better luck next visit. Yes, the 'robot thing' is the word verification thing.

I like my blog to be open to one and all. Any unsuitable comment is easily deleted.

My contacts here will be very few as I am only interested in being accepted with open arms - lol

I've never participated in a hospital sleep study but I know many who have, and after hearing their stories, I'm glad I can sleep in my own bed at night. I feel very sad For people like you who have trouble sleeping. Sleeping is one of the great pleasures in life, going to bed tired, shutting your eyes, and a couple of minutes later it's morning!
I am not going to comment on the dog. Let's just say I prefer REAL dogs.

oh good grief. i am glad in the end of sunburn and annoying sleep studies you at least got the fun of cuddling a puppy who loves you.

The robot thing is inconvenient, I agree. Kiwi, I would certainly prefer that I did not have to use it, but it has worked well to keep many undesirable (spam) intrusions from polluting people's thoughts in my blog. I hope you understand.

"Real" dogs? Shammy, while walking around in my socks, getting ready for work in the morning, and I discover a wet spot on the floor, it seems real enough. I resisted the idea of any dog at all, but the wife and kids finally won that battle. I like pet rocks... They don't cost much, don't mess much, don't make noise, and don't need a sitter when I plan to be away for a long time.

Chewie's a good pup, Lime. It seems so strange to me that he's less than 1/4th the size of my own little dog.

OOOOOOUCH!!! Now that looks painful :(

Hmm, not sure what the second picture is about, at first I thought you were helping someone with a sleep study, but after reading a few comments it sounds like you're having health trouble?? I hope everything is ok Craver!
