real people

Mark Goodyear came up from Texas and I got a chance to say Howdy. This picture makes him look tall, but he is actually quite tiny. You can't really tell, but in this photo, I have him hoisted up on my shoulder.

It would have been fun to do something absolutely mindless, like a snowball fight, but this time of year, we're
fresh out of snow. Perhaps another time.

I was a little starstruck and couldn't think of much to say at the time. I just held the camera, and he said okay.

.

Looky-here! Stacey is a local friend, she's seated at the far right. The gal in the middle is Jennw/2N's. She was kind enough to drop by when she passed through town from the East coast.

I can't recall whether I have ever thrown a snowball at Stacey, but if I haven't, it's just a matter of time. Ahh, good times.

It looks deceptively bright outside, doesn't it? I found a spot to take the picture where they don't use any chemicals on their lawn whatsoever. Unfortunately, it's right next to a nuclear waste management facility, and all of the pictures turn out with a certain, enigmatic intensity about them.

.

Anyway, it was interesting to hang out with real live people. I didn't have much time to spend thinking about what to say, then deleting and rewriting my comments. Thanks for visiting!

It was super-fun to meet you in person, Craver. Thanks for the photos! (Sorry I picked first. That wasn't very nice, was it?)

Hmmm, snow coming in my direction via Craver's hand...I don't recall. Maybe it was the concussion that's making me forget...or the radiation from that chemically free site.

You make me laugh!

I'm rumored to be a real person, but as far as I can tell, it's only a rumor.

I'm there too, lately I've been on an editing kick and can't get out quite what I want to say.

I guess the rest of us are not real! *sniff* We must just be Special Effects-right LL?

:)

Jenn and Stacey, thanks for taking the time for pictures. But, it wouldn't bother me if we each ended up picking the same shot.

Deborah, Eve, and Pete, You each have nice pictures of your kids, maybe I'll do the same soon. Pete, you're not only rumored to be a "real" person, but I've even heard you're "Normal."

Snap out of it, Eve. I don't want tear stains on my monitor. ;-)
I chuckled over the "real" part of this as well, because I just had a live conversation with a churchmate who has a MySpace account, and he was making fun of me for including blogging friends among real relationships. You are special indeed, but you are not "merely" special effects.

Then I must be a figment of your imagination! I'm not really here. You only THINK you're reading my replies.

Maybe Pete is the only one who's really real and the rest of us with supposed pictures are just creations in PhotoShop.

Hey, speaking of photoshop... somebody deleted the big red hat that I wore when I met Craver!

Eve, it's hard not to feel special in the presence of a man who braves nuclear waste. (Go, Craver!)

And, hey, Craver, what's this about Mark not being tall? I just met him in NYC, and he was a great sun umbrella for me, if I walked at just the right angle next to him.

What?! Are you suggesting that I just made up that part of "hoisting him up on my shoulder?" You probably doubt the claim of radioactively glowing, too. (Everything is just crumbling at my feet.) Okay, tell me this: Where do you stand on the big red hat?

Someone told me that Craver took the big red hat and stuffed it in his car in hopes to wear it later on.

I try not to stand on hats, especially red ones. And especially not the hats of people who publish my stuff (Mark does that, God bless him. And if you don't believe me, check it out. Plus, as I recall, part of the contract I signed said something about not stepping on his red suede hat.)

Buck up, I have every confidence that you could hoist Mark if you so wished. :)

In regard to Mark's hat, I thought I detected a hymn book and some big rubber bands in one of the pictures. Maybe it's just me.

Sounds like you're having fun this summer. Gives new meaning to the words "blog tour"!

AMM--NICE. I wish I had thought of that . . . before I went on mine.
