This is one of the first flowers to bloom in front of the house this spring. That's a crocus, right?
. So anyway, there was a bumper sticker I saw last night, between the buckets of rain. It said something to the effect of: "If you love the creator, take care of his creation."

I get it. I try to be responsible and do the right thing. The thing is, do I really love The Maker or just the things he made? Am I enthralled with The Benefactor or the benefits? There's nothing wrong with appreciating the good stuff He provides, as long as our priorities don't get flipped.

Beautiful picture. As for caring, hmmm.... I hope it is maybe a little more about love than responsibility... the way one might lay his beloved's clothes upon the bed rather than stepping on them, if he were to find them on the floor when walking in the room.

Those are good questions, and I think that LL answered it well.
I also think that if we don't take care of the creation, especially other people and ourselves, we don't esteem them as highly as God does. He cared enough to make the ultimate sacrifice for us to have not only eternity in heaven, but an abundant fruitful life on earth. We can't do that if we are sick, depressed, or surrounded by chaos.
His word says that we already have everything necessary for life and godliness, which means that if we go around destroying the things He has provided for us, they won't be there to meet the needs as He provided them for.
Lovely crocus, by the way. Our first flowers to bloom were the violas, as they never stopped all winter, followed by the daffodils. Our spring must be much advanced to yours. The grass is already green and many of the trees leafed out. The rain has certainly helped that. Hope you miss the forecast snow this weekend!

Aww, gee… SNOW?!!! Yes, you’re right, O.W. Snow is predicted with 32 degrees (Fahrenheit) on Saturday, and 31 on Sunday. I hope we miss the snow, but if it comes, you know I’ll be taking pictures!

To love Jesus Christ first is imperative, and our highest calling.
And the reason we do love Him, is because He first loved us.
If you Christ, who created all things, though they are cursed because of Adam, then you will esteem His creation, the earth and all it's fullness.
And though this earth, (and universe really), is cursed, God has promised to make all things "New". So we haven't seen nothin' yet!
"Seeing then that all these things shall be destroyed, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy living and godliness,
Looking for and hastening unto the coming of the Day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for New heavens and a New earth, wherein dwells righteousness".

Excellent point, Craver. As the title of a book says - God is the Gospel. If we pursue the gifts apart from the Giver, in some way, we demean the Giver.
