bugged

There were a few things bugging me this weekend. Not major issues, but man, little things can add up and feel overwhelming, can't they! Part of the problem, is in the way I chose to respond. My attitude was not right, and I LET these things get under my skin. Now, I didn't have a major blowout or anything like that, but on the inside, I felt like I was getting close to it. I want to be wise about the way I choose to respond to difficult situations...

.

Arcamax joke:

... like the little daschund whose owner took him along on an African safari. The dog started chasing butterflies and got lost. From a distance, a leopard saw the lost dog and began moving in for the kill. Scary, huh?

.

The dog was standing near a pile of bones, and thinking quickly, he turned away from the big cat as if he hadn't noticed, chomped on one of the bones and then smacked his lips as if he had just finished eating, then said, "Aaah, that was one tasty leopard, but I'm still hungry, I sure wish I could find one more!" The leopard heard this and made a fearful retreat.

.

Unfortunately, our story doesn't end there. A devious monkey saw and heard the whole thing. Laughing out loud, he told the daschund that he was going to find the leopard and exchange this information for protection. Of course, the leopard was furious when he learned that he had been fooled, so he let the monkey ride on his back as they set out to get revenge on the clever pooch.

.

Smelling the return of the monkey, the dog knew that a confrontation was imminent, but didn't let on that he knew they were near. Instead, he announced in a loud voice, "Where is that stupid monkey?! I sent him out over half-an-hour ago to fetch me another leopard!!"

yay for the clever daschund!

love the shot of the grasshopper too.

hoping what's bugging you abates soon, but in the meantime that you have the inner calm you need.

I didn't know Dachshunds were so smart.

Good to hear you didn't explode Craver. "A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man hold them back." Prov. 29:11 NKJV

BTW, your comments over at halfmoms were excellent.

You're so kind Lime. But mediocrity (especially my own) and malfunctioning equipment... un-abatable. The only thing I can realistically hope to see changed is my own disposition.
Gal. 5: 22-23

Clever daschunds, talking monkeys and cowardly leopards. That's just the kind of thing I serve up over here, isn't it Shammy?

Well Don, it wasn't exactly righteous indignation. The fact that I haven't been sleeping well played into it, too.

Halfmom entertains some really good conversations, doesn't she?

You ARE wise in your thinking! It's definitely wise to control yourself altho I admit I have a problem with that too.
Cute joke!

Cute and clever joke.

I understand how you feel about the attitudes within us. You did good though. Yes you know what was brewing inside you and how things could have turned out, but the key is that you didn't let it go there.
I would humbly suggest as a friend that you let this simply be a mile stone of learning. You are one step closer to overcoming because you saw it and are aware of it instead of being blind.

the joke is a very good example of being wise in a difficult situation.

Nevermind spotting the leopards; it's the wiener dogs you have to keep an eye out for, David.

I think there is no sin in the feelings that sprung up, but perhaps I dwelled on them too long and let them fester until it became almost unbearable. I saw someone smile at me from the stage, and I couldn't smile back. Worse than that, I didn't even care. Now THAT's bad, Dot.

Jules, I like talking about being a "sojouner" and not a "settler," but this time, I did not roll with the changes, as a sojourner would. Let's hope I learned from this.

NaNcY, I hope I don't overdo it with the imported jokes, but you're right. In this case, it seemed to fit.
