Behind Bass Pro Shops -- Bolingbrook, IL
Two crimson saplings, approximately the same size, stood in close proximity to me. I wondered how to frame one or both for a picture, when all-of-the-sudden, it hit me. I sidestepped a few paces to change perspective, lining one sapling directly behind the other. It even made the foliage appear a little thicker.

I wanted to walk closer, and look for more photo opportunities, but there was a sign. I assumed it would say "no fishing," but it said "no trespassing." Oops. The photo session was over... time to go home.

Wow, those crimson's are bright. I remember planting one in our yard in Downers Grove. What a shame to close off such a beautiful place. Do you go to Morton Arboretum?

My family has been to the Morton Arboretum Gaelyn, but not me. It's hard for me to be a good dad at that kind of a place, because I get lost in the magnificent details of creation, and hardly pay attention to the people I came with. Or when they're ready to go, I'm still trying to get the angle, focus and light just right for a shot that will never show up anywhere anyway. I might do well to go alone some time.
I kind of agree with their privacy thing. It's not like there aren't plenty of spaces to play or fish nearby. Anyway, the landscaping stays pretty and free of litter. I'm just glad they can do it with signs and no fence.
