aerial photography

another view from Scenic Overlook in Bolingbrook
One more from Scenic Overlook. Mind you, I wasn't actually flying. That only happens in my dreams. These pics were taken from my town's highest spot.

.

A photographer for a national magazine was assigned to take pictures of a great forest fire. He was advised that a small plane would be waiting to fly him over the fire.

The photographer arrived at the airstrip just an hour before sundown. Sure enough, a small Cessna airplane was waiting. He jumped in with his equipment and shouted, "Let's go!"

The tense man sitting in the pilot's seat swung the plane into the wind and soon they were in the air, though flying erratically.

"Fly over the north side of the fire," said the photographer, "and make several low-level passes."

"Why?" asked the nervous pilot.

"Because I'm going to take pictures!" yelled the photographer. "I'm a photographer, and photographers take pictures."

After a long pause, the "pilot" replied: "You mean, you're not my instructor?"

Craver: Are you sure you weren't flying or instructing what height to be. Really funny joke.

Thanks Joan. Well, it gave me an excuse to put up that other picture of the tree tops anyway.

It's been almost two decades since I've read any fiction, Imac. I try to stay well read, but I tend to consider lots of ideas unworthy of their ink, and more fantasy than fact. Brown has quite an imagination.

I have often said Fishing Guy, that I'm not afraid of heights, just afraid of falling. Yes, there is a difference. Maybe on my next post, I'll show a little friend who spends a lot of time up away from the ground.

Very funny joke. But what I'm wondering is how you found a place in Bowling brook high enough to call an overlook and see the tops of trees.

Gaelyn, the scenic overlook used to be a ginormous garbage mound until they made it pretty. I blogged about it once before. It's closed off in the coldest months, but people like it for the nice views. It's cool to see Downtown Chicago from Bolingbrook.

The funniest jokes these days Mommanator, are coming from a nephew and niece who just discovered joke books. They're so cute, with their simple deliveries. There is a good "blonde" joke I can't wait to tell them, but I'm going to change it to a "clown" joke instead.

I know Lime. I'd be worried about my camera! X-D

Craver -- I haven't been around the blogosphere much lately, but when I just popped in for a visit, I find the same wonderful wit and photographs as I was accustomed to. You have become quite the photographer . . . AND comedian! Blessings!
