just out of reach

This squirrel was gorging itself in this tree. Here, you can see it getting ready to consume one more tasty red morsel. Our squirrel leaned as far as it could and pulled the branches closer to reach the prize. Sometimes, I wish I could do that for the weekend -- just streeeeetch out and pull it closer. This weekend, I'll be hanging out with close friends, worshiping in community with local saints, and hopefully taking a Sunday afternoon nap. But at the time of this writing, that feels juuuuuust out of reach.

Very cute Craver. Be thankful you don't have to go out on a limb for it. ;-)

I have been watching the squirrels in my yard bury their food.

Very interesting how they look and dig a little;
look and dig a little;
look and dig a little;
and then finally,
they look and start digging and digging, and they shove the food in the hole, and use those little hands to cover it up, and then they look around a bit.

I'm glad that I don't have to store food like that. I'd definitely forget where I put it.

Have a great Lord's Day. It will be here soon enough. And the Lord Himself will be here soon and ver soon. What a Day that will be!

Good luck getting that nap, Craver! I hope you don't have to work as hard as the squirrel to get it. ;-)

Nothing in life is out of reach if you want it badly enough.

If I did Gaelyn, do you suppose I could find a park ranger to assist me?

It's like enjoying the Scriptures, Sandman. Poke around, keeping your nose in it, and now and then you find a spot where you just have to go deep.

This weekend, we commission a couple of my friends to the mission field. I feel a deep sorrow, knowing that there is a good chance that I will never see them again... then I realize that I have not really considered eternity and the day of the Lord in this equation. There is a profound hope in that. Still, I wish I didn't have to say goodbye.

Good news EG!! I got 15 winks Saturday afternoon. That's something.

Nothing Joan? Well, let's hope I cast my affections on the right things.

Yeah, Joan is pretty bright L&Q's mum. I hope I get good pics this weekend. There are opportunities for people pics... I don't usually post those, but I just printed out some releases, in case I want permission to post them. Taking pictures of people has been rather challenging for me.

I hope so Denise. Praise God from whom all blessings flow...

I know better than to risk damaging my photography equipment, Imac. Especially the carbon based unit that normally holds the camera. But if I did fall, I know that you'd help me up... after taking a snapshot, of course. ;-)

I hope you get it all back together alright, nAncY. I trust Peter will be pleased with your good intentions anyway.

Craver: I do love when they make the leap of faith to the next branch, a lesson to learn.

I hope your weekend was as good as you anticipated it to be.
The squirrels in my back yard have a definite route... over the garage roof, onto the pear tree, up 2 branches, then take a run at it and a massive leap to the fir tree.... that particular branch of the fir tree has hardly any needles, all worn off on the squirrel highway.
