whole lotta nothin'

We did a little visiting this weekend, and I took a few pics. And I wanted to share one or two of them with you today, but guess what... I checked my pocket today, and the thumb drive was missing. I can't retrieve them from the camera, because they've already been deleted. I like to keep the memory card as uncluttered as possible. The images are not lost forever; they're just on a computer that I can't get to right now.

.

The best of intentions today yielded a whole lot of nothing. Oh well, that's the way it is sometimes. Maybe tomorrow I'll have those files, okay?

.

In the meantime, I pulled this one from the archives. I took it last week, and it fits perfectly for today, because it shows a spot where there used to be a tree, and now it is... nothing. Those houses in the background are empty because construction was stopped... hence: nothing. And most of the photo is sky... more of nothing!! ;-)

I wouldn't say that beautiful sky is nothing, but I know what you mean.

I have to agree with George on this one and also add that it is a lovely composition.

When I started reading your post I ws afraid you'd lost your photos forever. PHEW! I'm glad you still have them at home!

Meanwhile, thanks for nothing. :)

what a sickening feeling that must have been.

Good news, Bird Girl; I found the thumb drive! Now I have to figure out which pic I want to put up first.

That's exactly right, Imac.

Well hello Mrs. Nesbitt! So nice of you to drop in for a visit. I wish I could offer you refreshments or something after such a long trip, but today... I've got nothing. :-)

Thank you Fishing Guy. I got them now. That little thumb drive is easy to misplace.

So George, this could be a case where nothing is something, right?

Joan, when setting up the shot, I was thinking about being more extreme, in order to place more emphasis on the sky, but as I looked through the viewfinder to frame it, this was the only shot that I felt comfortable with. Thanks.

That would be a nightmare EG. Then again, it is a gift to be able to go through life with open hands, not clutching to things that we ultimately cannot keep. I'm not quite there yet, but hope to grow into that kind of contentment.

Re: "thanks for nothing." (big grin) Yup; you've got it.

Actually, it wasn't so bad Lime. Because even if the thumb drive was lost, I still had the pics in another computer. Still, I want to think that if I lost everything and had to start over, I would be mature enough to handle the situation. (Let's hope that is never tested, though.)

Well I like that photo! The sky is gorgeous.

I delete all my pictures on my memory card regularly, there's nothing worse than having a full card when you're trying to take shots of wildlife, lol.
