warrior son

S2 looks like he is putting finishing touches on his snowman, but the truth is he only helped with part of it and I caught him in the act of adding a goofy grin to MY snowman.

.

That poor snowman would have looked a lot better if we had raked the leaves out of the backyard. Oh well!

.

That day, my son spent more time constructing a snow fort. Unfortunately, it got too cold in the subsequent days for a snowball fight. The icy stuff we have now would be lethal.

.

He is studying about Constantine in his history class. We have been talking about making shields for the last few weeks anyway, so he and I went to work on a couple of usable, cardboard shields. We are not done yet, but they're coming along nicely.

.

The real fun will come later, when we spar with foam swords and these cardboard shields. Mrs. Craver, you may want to move those breakables out of the way.

I like the leaf texture to Your snowman. And I love how you all play together. Do be careful of the breakables though.

With those shields you might be able to have that snowball fight after all. :-)

2 kids at heart my friend.
Well done.

I don't think a snowman without leaves is real. You and your son made a good one. About those swords and shields: who is looking forward to using them more -- you or your son?

Do you really like the leaf texture? Gaelyn, I found it so annoying. I have good memories of my own dad, but he never played with me like this. I guess those were just different times.

No way, Happyone. I'd only take these outside if they were waterproofed somehow.

Oh Imac... just wait until we get the foam swords!

George, I believe the answer to your question is, "yes."

Hehe! Putting some finishing touches on YOUR snowman, eh?

I'd say it's so early in winter that you'll still have loads of time yet for that snowball fight. Does your son have a good aim?

You all got some serious snow, eh.

I hope we down here in Maryland are spared this year of snow. We have had some very cold weather for December so far.
Where is that global warming they were talking about?

Nice snowman. I like snow forts better. And igloos.

I'm still settling in to my new home, but I have definite plans to make a HUGE snowman when the little grandies come to visit, there's lots of snow out in the back yeard just waiting for us!

Best of all Mr. Dave, is the snow bump my oldest daughter used to make.

When I started the big snowball EG, I was tempted to launch that heavy thing to him, but wisdom prevailed. And no, no one in my family has good aim. We couldn't throw straight if our lives depended on it.

I've never made a proper igloo, Sandman. But when I was little, I dug a cave into a huge pile of snow. That was an adventure!

Be sure to play with your baby, Chris. When our kids grow up, they remember the littlest things.

Yes Lime, sometimes he is a little stinker, but I love my son.

You don't have to wait for the kiddies, Shammy. Take a break from unpacking, and make yourself a snowman, and then have a cup of hot chocolate. That's good stuff.

So, THAT'S what those shields that you were showing me were last night!?! Cool snowman!

You two built a great snowman, and yes moving all breakable objects seems like a good idea. Remembering when here ;)

As long as he had fun is all what really counts. I find the snow a great way for children to spend time out doors and family's to bond. I cannot wait for our first snow.

Thanks Rachel Grace. We haven't played with them yet, though. Maybe this weekend, I can get some of those big foam swords or axes.

We might have to take these games into a roomy gymnasium Denise. Especially if I buy one of those big foam war axes or the especially cool mace I saw last week!

Welcome, Flutietootie! You're absolutely right. The chief concern for something like that is that we had some quality father and son time. I hope that when you get your next snow, you can thoroughly enjoy it.
