bedazzled

The new polish looked nice on the dark rocking chair. I admired the sheen, and if it were not so late, I would have picked up a book and given it a good test run. But it really was past my bed time. While dousing the lights, I couldn't help but notice the big, heavy raindrops, and the beautiful music they made. I stepped out front and held my palms up to let a few splash on my hands. Oh, that rain was so good!! I wanted to stay up, but now I positively had to get some shuteye. One last glance at the fresh, shiny look of the rocker, and I was off to bed.

.

Morning came, and I stepped out front again to warm up the car. The midnight rainfall was now a coat of glaze on... everything! It was as if, by some crazy osmosis, the shine from my rocking chair now spread all over the trees, cars, and OH! (I almost slipped) Don't forget the walkways.

.

Yes, it was dangerous to tread on this stuff, but I loved it anyway. Every once-in-a-while the sun would poke through the clouds, and show off the elegant, glittering gown that covered the local landscapes.

I really like your essay on the icy shine you found in the morning. The pictures are wonderful as well.

Lovely post - put intended :)

Funny thing about that, Imac. I don't feel the urge to move on that chair, but tend to sit still on the rocker. But when I sit in one of these swivel chairs in a meeting, I can't sit still.

It's nothing fancy, Gaelyn. But I'll probably include a pic soon, and especially after I read something in that spot.

Thank you George. I was delighted to see how it all came together so easily.

Punny, Halfmom. I stretched as high as I could for that one, and stood precariously on my toes over a sheet of icy ground. That almost ended up being a picture of the sky straight above me...

The icy glaze on everything looks great but it doesn't feel so marvellous when your feet are slipsliding away from where you meant to put them. We had rain too, but most of it had dried up in the strong winds before it froze.

I almost busted my little stretched toesies on that ice!

OK - I have to tell you, the word verification is menact - as in men act - pretty funny!

It's very pretty, Craver. Dangerous but pretty. :)

There was a moment of terror when I first noticed the predicament under my feet, Shammy. But somehow, I managed to remain vertical.

Almost is okay, Halfmom. The actual busting of toesies is strictly forbidden. Be careful, my friend!

That's how it is with lots of things, isn't it EG? (Lightning, wild animals, etc.)
