fine and dandy

Do not blow on your monitor.  But if you do, don't worry--you will not be spreading weed seeds.  It is funny how people use these flowers to taunt me (blinking rapidly).  It doesn't bother me at all (twitch).  I'm over it.

.

My coworkers can be having a conversation that has nothing to do with me, but if one of them mentions "dandelion," people look at me like I'm supposed to blow a fuse, but I won't.  (squeezing stress ball)

.

I am not fine, by the way.  I've had a cold that wiped me out since Saturday.  I had no voice at all on Saturday and then again on Monday.  I didn't return to the office until Wednesday, but only after becoming a walking pharmacy and then I avoided talking as much as possible.  I don't like being sick.  I also don't like being so compulsive that when people ask how I'm doing, I try to tell them the whole story, instead of allowing my voice box to heal.

.

Can I tell you about the photo?  I saw this spawn of grass cancer in my back yard on Saturday.  I was SOOOO bored, that I wondered if I could take a detailed picture of it.  I could not.  So I tore it up from the ground.  Seriously... I did.  Keep listening.  It was too windy outside, so I pinched the stem and brought it inside the house.  I taped the stem to a light stand, and opened the front door, so that you could see the lawn across the street.  With my camera on a tripod, I bounced the flash off the ceiling and tinkered with the exposure value to get the background just the right color.  Then I threw the nasty thing in the trash, where it belongs.  (growling)

.

What I mean to say, is that I cleaned up, after I was done.  (deep breath)  Aah.  All better now.  (smile)

Craver...this is one of my favorite blog posts of yours. I can't explain why except that the "voice" of Craver comes through loud and clear (no pun intended...I mean that as the highest form of a comliment.)
I love your writing style...and you know that I love this photo! My grandson loves Dandelions and takes great pleasure each time he "spies" one. They bring him joy...he brings me joy...and the cycle is sheer pleasure.
Love this post and photo!!
Hugs and smiles,
J.

Hope your feeling better!!
I happen to really like dandelions and think the spots of yellow in a green lawn are beautiful! Are we still friends!! ? : )

Thank you Betty. I'm feeling a little better, but I still can't talk much. Today we sang Happy Birthday for a coworker. I saved my voice and did it in sign language (sort of). After the song, I applauded in sign language, too. My friend admonished, "You won't strain your voice by clapping." Eyebrow raised, I said, "It's for consistency."

Jackie, that's the nicest comliment ever! ;-)
Seriously, thank you so much! I appreciate all kinds of feedback, but it is especially cool to know that a person can hear me that way.

It it absolutely wonderful, the way you cherish your grandson. My own grandparents were rather stoic. I have decided that for my grandchildren, I will be a grandpa who they remember with a smile. Continue being a blessing to that little boy. May he grow to love people and love the Lord like you do.

Hahaha... Yes Happyone, we can still be friends. Let's compromise. If you see a dandelion anywhere other than my lawn, do anything you like. But if you ever make it out this way, please resist the urge to blow those seeds anywhere near the Craver house. Deal? :-)

Sorry for me to hear you were under the weather Crav. Lord bless you bro, and heal you up real good.

Nice pic of the "spawn of grass cancer".

Have a terrific Lord's Day my brother. We are both sons of Abraham, and so we are brothers, through Christ our Brother and Lord.

I had lots of those naughty little yellow invaders in my lawn too but I went out the the magic puller-upper and lots of them are gone. But I'll never be rid of them, there are just too many. And anyway, they are very pretty.... at the flower stage.... not so lovely when the seeds are blowing all over the place.
Good picture with an interesting story behind it.
Hoe you're feeling better. I'm sick too, spent Thursday in the hospital.

A great post. We hope that you have made a full recovery and all is well once again.

Thank you for your earlier visit to our blog in its infancy. Please check again, with maybe a comment or two. We used to preach - one good deed deserves another. We hope that still holds true.

you are just so funny. you went to way more trouble than i did in capturing your dandelion picture. i commend you on being able to do so without completely loosing your mind.

I'm definitely on the mend, Sandman. I should be back to 100% soon.
Heh heh. "Spawn of grass cancer." Did ya like that one?
Shalom, Bro.

Thanks Mr. Dave, but that's only because I neutralized the wind factor. It was much too breezy that day to get a decent shot outside.

I also like using the magic puller-upper. An added benefit, is that if you do enough of it, you'll aerate the lawn (lol). Shammy, I'm sorry to hear that you were in the hospital. That's no fun. I hope you're feeling better today.

Imac, I have seen some of your dandelion seed pictures. In fact, that is what inspired me to try for more detail! As much as I dislike what they do to my lawn, I have to admit that I think these things can be pretty.

Sure Kiwi; I'll drop by and leave a note or two. Thanks for visiting.

Lime, you and Boom Boom created a nice pic of the dandelion. It was a neat coincidence that we were taking these pics at approximately the same time. What is that saying? "Great minds think of taking dandelion pics at the same time." ...Or something like that; right?

I'm impressed at what a dedicated photographer will do to get a great picture. I hope you are now feeling better.

Thank you for your visit and your comment/s. I replied to some length, but I am doubtful that you will receive my response. When I sent my reply to your comment, unusual things happened. Sorry about that.

Kindest regards
