memories

November 6, 2013

This week's challenge is memories, selected by Lew. Check out my  pals for their  interpretations on this theme: Fishing Guy, Katney, Imac, Lew, and Christine Anne.

How about this...  This week's header is a 1907 Conley Field Camera; you and I use cameras to capture memories.  It was displayed in the Galena and U. S. Grant Museum, which preserves memories.  My wife and I stayed in Galena, Illinois during our 25th wedding anniversary (Jan. 23), as we celebrated memories and created new ones.

The staff said visitors were allowed to make photos.  Yea!!!

I'll stick to my Pentax, thank-you.

Try as I might, this contraption wouldn't allow me to update Facebook.
You may think it strange, but I've always wanted to try to shave using a straight razor.

I was with my wife, so I couldn't make a spectacle of myself.

This was a delightful dining experience.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was the wine tasting.  I didn't overindulge, but it was neat to learn how to sample wines.  My wife prefers the sweet, white wines, and I like them dry and red.

It was especially neat for me to see the fine photography of Tom Mangelsen.

Cool sign, with its colors and textures!

The reason for the trip and the best part.  It was about remembering our 25 years of marriage.

These are marvelous memories -- thanks for sharing them with us. I don't think I would want to try that straight razor, but I will admit that I often make a spectacle of myself whether my wife is with me or not.

What a lovely place to spend time with your sweetheart. Congratulations to you and Chrissy on your anniversary.
I'm glad you were allowed to take photos; nice compilations that you have here, Craver. As always, your commentary on them is priceless...such a wit, you are.
The time away with your wife is priceless. I am so happy that you were able to get away and relax together. Sending you both love.

A black and white shot for the header is perfect considering the subject.
What wonderful treasures in that museum. Makes you really stop and think how far we've come.
Won't be long till another anniversary is upon you. I hope you're planning for another wonderful celebration. :)

You've got a good eye. Sammy was indeed wearing a spidey shirt. :)

I don't think I ever used one like that. We had a little brownie as the first camera I really remember.

Love the old camera! Dad had one with the bellows, but not that old. Looks like you had a delightful celebration of 25 years of memories!

Awesome, all about memories. I remember my mom's Brownie camera, that box-shaped one with the bulb she'd put on top that'd have me blinking my eyes furiously after the picture. Neat memories!

And congrats on the silver, you two! That's a great anniversary to ceelebrate!
