it's all new

it's all new

January 2, 2014

This week's challenge is it's all new, selected by Fishing Guy.  Check out my  pals for their  interpretations on this theme: Fishing Guy, Katney, Imac, Lew, and Christine Anne.

The Apostle Paul addressed two letters to the church in Corinth.  They had issues, but he laid an important piece of theology on them.  Becoming a follower of Christ is not merely something we do to enhance our externals... there is a profound change that happens when a person belongs to Jesus Christ.  2nd Corinthians, Chapter 5 and Verse 17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

The turn of the year is a popular time for fresh starts and many resolutions are made at this time.  Some of those resolutions will be broken soon.  I chose not to make any "resolution" per se,but I DID begin a new reading program that will take me through the whole Bible in 2 years.  I've done a one-year program before, and it was great, but this two-year program will make it easier to pay deeper attention to the text.  If you want to see it, here is the schedule for the Two-Year Bible Reading Plan.

The new year may bring a lot of new things, and it was nicely capped off here with a steady snow that covered everything.  Fresh snow gives a new look to our daily scenes, so I nabbed a shot from a conference room window at work with my cell phone and added text to use for today's header.  Morning break is over... gotta get back to it.

New things, new goals, new snow - what a way to start the new year! Your snow is scheduled to arrive here about 6 PM, along with 40 mph winds, so I spent the morning taking down the outside Christmas decorations. Happy New Year!

Nice snow picture.
I read the Bible through every year and have done so for years.
This year I'm reading a Chronological Reading Plan. : )

I'm going to print the two-year Bible reading plan. Like you, I've done (or in my case "tried to do") the one-year plan, and I didn't succeed in it. I'm going to try this two-year plan.
Thank you for sharing it with me, Craver.
Hugs,
J.
