almost here

It's less than a week away!!!

(And I still have lots to do.)

.

The idea for this photo was hovering in my head for a long time and this morning, I realized that if I don't hurry up, I'll miss the day! I was really hoping for a little better quality, a larger nativity scene, and a view unobstructed by mailboxes or recycling bins, but I think you get the idea, right?

Craver

You cannot possibly be more unprepared for Christmas than I am - no Christmas cards sent out, no presents purchased, etc... but I'm looking forward to Christmas nonetheless. After all, it's not about the gifts I'm getting or those I'm planning to purchase for others. It's really about the Gift I've already received, isn't it?

Very clever! Are you wearing your reindeer knitted woolly jumper yet and sipping the old eggnog?

Oh my preparations are all done !! Gifts bought, invitations gone.. only remaining thing is decorations.

But to tell you, I have also clicked a photo like that... rear view mirror... seeing the world behind you.

Will post it some day (if I remember ). ;)

I loved to see all these comments come in today!

Mrs. Craver and I just returned from the hospital.

Please pray for my son. The older one. He was playing rough with his buddies last night, and took a hard fall. We think it is safe to say now that he did not suffer a concussion, but he broke his jaw, chipped some teeth, and separated his lower incisors from the gum.

I am waiting for a specialist to determine whether he needs surgery or have his jaw wired shut. Not the kind of thing a kid wants to go through at Christmastime... or any other time.

Right now, I'm goind down for a nap before heading back to the hospital.

A broken jaw sounds really painful. I'll definitely be praying for your son!

Love the picture, too. I actually like the small, blurry nativity--almost eclipsed by the bright red santa and the expectant mailbox. That's the way this season feels sometimes.

But then I remember the grace of Christ. The magi. The shepherds. The joy on my son's face that I expect to see when he opens his Star Wars X-Wing fighter. The joy on my face when I get to play with it...
