easy pickins

The plan was to go to one of the back rooms of an empty church. There is a field behind that church where the robins hang out. I hid there once, crouched down behind the windows, and found them yanking worms for lunch. I wanted that picture. So when I went to the front door, I found a robin two or three yards from a window. Proceeding slowly, I set up the tripod inside the front doors, and this is what I got. It is one of my favorite bird pics to date, because I did not need to crop it at all. I hope you like it.

.

Oh, that field out back... it was empty.

Craver: Robins are such great subjects with all the color. Now to get one with a worm in it's beak.

This capture is a Beaut Craver. Keep trying with your tripod and patience for more.

You bet, Imac. I crop almost everything.

So glad you liked it, Happyone.

Thanks for your encouragement and inspiration, Chris.

Yes, I still want that picture, Fishing Guy. I have a handful, but they're not very sharp.

Will do, Gaelyn. I used the tripod and patience formula on Saturday morning, and came up empty. But that is a story for another time... maybe.

This is a great picture and the fact that you didn't have to crop it makes it even more beautigful.

Excellent Craver!! Really like it. Seems as if it missed the worm though? :)

nicely done! and may i say, aren't you glad you don't have to yank worms for breakfast?

Thanks George. Not cropping it reminds me of Fonzie, when he would pull out his comb, look in the mirror, and then decide that his hair was perfect as is. Ayyyyyy!

I'll get those worms, Joan. It's just a matter of time.

Not for MY breakfast, Lime. But I have collected worms for fishing. The fish love them, but they won't stay on my hooks. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.
