de colores
Seeing baby goslings on private property, I asked and was given permission to roam their lot for a good photography location. I zoomed in pretty good, and paid so much attention to sharpness, that I did not notice until later, that the color of the water came out different. It was after 5PM, and the water looked bluish with the sun coming from my left. But when I switched positions, and the sun was at my back, the water was green. Why do you suppose that is?

Craver: two choices - you pick
1: Cameras are made to be fooled, they really aren't that smart. Here is another case of your eye seeing better then the camera.
2: Why that is called refraction. Depending how the light bends off the water you get a different color.
Take your pick.
Oh, I love the baby geese. They are so cute. LOTS of geese around the lake where I walk, but no babies yet.
Did you get some tree color reflection in the second photo?
Sure is nice to see the goslings, they're So cute.
Just the angle of the sun reflecting on it Craver, the one has picked up the golden color of the suns rays. What cute little chicks and great pictures too.
Refraction sounds plausible Fishing Guy.
Happyone, fuzzy yellow goslings remind me of tennis balls. I am half-tempted to leave tennis balls near geese and see how they react.
More likely that it would be from the grass on the opposite bank, Gaelyn. No trees over there. Good observation, though.
They are cute, aren't they Joan? Imagine my delight when I saw them swimming back in my direction!
I've found that the camera doesnt always pick up the correct colours. But I'm sure all your commenters are correct, it's the way the light bounces off the surface of the water.
Honk! Honk!
