Good news - I've begun carrying my camera bag again!

Daylight lingers until after I start heading home these days. Sunset's spectacle changes so very rapidly, that I hurried into a lot at the local park to set up a tripod and snap off a few pics..
Besides the amazing colors in the sky, the ground was an interesting blue-gray hue. It was important to me that I capture the snowbank in the foreground, so I used a flash. The white snow in the foreground makes the blue behind it look like it's painted on, but that's what I found so fascinating here. I did not add the blue in the back... I removed it from the front (by using a flash). That blue compliments the orange sunset rather nicely, don't you think?.
It is 56 degrees (f) as I write this. (That converts to 13 c.) It is so warm, that I walked out front during a break, and filled my lungs, but could barely reconcile what I felt on my skin with the piles of snow that still cover the ground. I reached down to touch it and make sure the snow was still cold.

I like the four distinct layers here. Highlighting the foreground snow really worked well.
I'm glad you're carrying your camera again. This photo is a great start to what I hope will be a long series of pictures.
Heye 13°C, we are still in the minus over here but mate, the days are getting much more longer and warm than few weeks ago... I'm happy you are getting this camera out again... I think for me, the camera should be getting me out, but I simply do not have the energy yet ;-)

We are having a break from winter too. Right now as I type it is 61 degrees!
The pic was taken on Tuesday night at approximately 5:30, Mr. Dave. You're right... this location would look very different now, after two unusually warm days to thaw. Don't worry... more cold and snow is on the way next week! ;-)

George, a few equipment issues really did a number on my motivation. It stinks when limited skill and problematic tools gang up on a person.
Chris, isn't it exciting to begin seeing longer days? I really liked what you did with the snowbirds, shooting down from their perspective.
We still have piles of snow on each side of the driveway Fishing Guy, but I'll be happy to have the full range of space in my parking area again.
As far as I am concerned Happyone, 61 degrees is just about perfect! I hope you can take advantage of the beautiful days.
I wish I could wrap my arms around that Sunset and keep it. I suppose the longing to be totally and fully satisfied will come when we see the "Light of the world" face to face.
Until then this world has some beauty we can truly enjoy as we wait for our King to return to us, His subjects. may we be found faithful.

The earlier colors are what made me pull over. They were lighter and softer, but I'm thankful for what I got, Lime. As I said to Sandman, those colors change real fast!

It is kind of neat when it's warm outside, but there's still a lot of snow on the ground.
