SOOC means Straight Out Of the Camera. While I would love to take credit for how well the exposure and lighting turned out for this pic, here's all I did: I went out after dinner (dusk), set the ISO to 400, turned on the flash, and used the "candlelight" scene selection on my camera. The only change that I made to the image was to save it as a little file (72KB vs. 5.6MB).
Lest anyone thinks that I had anything to do with illegal fireworks, let me explain what you're looking at. We switched a hamster's diet to nothing but beans and Tabasco Sauce, and when the little furball looked ready, we placed him in a tube... WHOOSH!!! Somebody told me that they can't expel gas, but I guess we proved that wrong, eh?
I like these automatic settings. I should try them more often.

So, now on the 5th November, I'm out shopping for Hamsters, lot cheaper than fireworks.lol.
You are so bad...
I'm thinking that the 4th of July will be a real blast at your house.
Here's a heads up for all the neighborhood pets: Beware! Craver is in the hood.
Not knowing anything about hamsters in this part of the world I wonder if a very popular substitution might work. I refer of course to a selection of our New Zealand politicians.
There's no concern about the size of the tube. As we all know politicians can squeeze themselves in and out of anything. We plan the the biggest and most popular blast off next NEW YEARS EVE. Let's take all the hoodoo away from 1213.
Oops. My first reply got deleted.
Good plan, Imac. I'd say you only need two, but my daughter once bought one male hamster and after we brought it home, he had babies. Apparently, it is difficult to distinguish gender when they're younger.
Mwaaa ha ha haaa... Actually Jackie, I dont' get into fireworks much, but I'm thinking of trying to get a pic (long exposure) where we're painting with sparklers.

Hahahaha! That's funny, Kiwi.
well, that photo is simply terrific!
i'm chuckling at imac's comment.
Take off, eh.
Sorry if you don't get it, that's a Canadian joke.
We put fireworks under the dog's dish then blew it up and videoed it, then played it back at slow speed frame by frame.... you should try it, it's awesome.
Imac has a great sense of humor, Betty. I'm glad you liked this pic.
Ya hey der, Shammy. Take off; it's a beauty way to go. I was indoctrinated by the Bob and Doug McKenzie song with Geddy Lee. I am scared of video... scared that I might like it and get hooked.
LOL,launching hamsters? i'm speechless! LOL
