merry christmas
Strange times we live in. As I write this, people around here are looking for our first measurable snow. Christmas music fills the air, and simultaneously, folks are making apocalypse jokes (ahem) like there's no tomorrow. Strong political rhetoric is polarizing many of us into factions. (heavy sigh) And oh, the pain from a recent senseless and disturbing tragedy still hurts us deeply.
May you find joy and hope in the ultimate Source. A Christmas wreath reminds me very much of a crown of thorns. We celebrate the long awaited coming of the Messiah, remember his death, resurrection and ascension, and look forward to his return. Where do you stand with Jesus?
Let me leave you with a lighter thought. I thoroughly enjoy holiday music at Christmas. Some of my favorites are the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mannheim Steamroller's Fum Fum Fum is outstanding, and I like hearing the Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy duet with David Bowie and Bing Crosby. My number one favorite is when I'm alone in the car singing O Holy Night (while no one can hear me). That song has such dynamic passion! And finally, if I could, I would pipe through some Christmas scents for you. Cinnamon, peppermint, hot cocoa, pine from the tree...
Merry Christmas! (hug)

And a Jolly Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend.
I like all of your Christmas songs. I would add Harry Simeone's Little Drummer Boy and Percy Faith's Joy to the World to your list.
We are so fortunate that Christmas shines like a bright light in our dark world. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas.
I love to "try" and sing "Oh Holy Night"...that high note near the end gets me very time!...but that doesn't stop me from trying.
Like you, I sing it when I'm alone. There's no need for me to punish others as I enjoy this song.
Merry Christmas to you, Chrissy, and your dear family.
Hugs,
J.
My favorite is the Little Drummer boy sung by Anne Murray. Such a simple gift but right from the heart.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Where do I stand with Jesus? I am happy to say He is my Savior. : )
wishing you and your family a very merry christmas. may we all enjoy a soul satisfying peace.
merry christmas to you and yours!
merry christmas to you and yours!
I sing Christmas Carols when I am on my own too. Oh Holy Night is one of my favorites. May you and your family have a Merry Christmas.
Yes, they are all wonderful Christmas songs. I've been enjoying them for the past couple of weeks, But I refuse to listen to them in November!
I've been a very naughty blogger just recently, what with my internet going horribly wrong and then as soon as it was fixed, the Christmas Variety Show kept me busy and now all the Christmas prep.... however I promise to be better in the future. So Have a Happy Christmas and all the best for 2013!
wishing you and yours a very merry christmas!
i love christmas carols, almost every single one of them.
loved your post!
Thanks, Imac! It was jolly, indeed! I need to show you what my daughter got for me... you'll get a kick out of it.
I'm going to search out that version of the song, George. Thanks for the recommendation.
Jackie, do you play piano without a vocal mic? I love to sing out, but it would be a mistake to put a microphone in front of me. As I suggested to Imac, you'd get a kick out of my new "Nikon." Oops, I've said too much. You'll have to see it later... Maybe on Facebook.
Happyone, Anne Murray's voice is so easy on the ears, isn't it?
Lime, peace on earth received special attention from me this year. I noticed that the angel said, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." It's more selective than a universal peace to everyone, everywhere. It made me think.
Thank you, Mr. Dave.
Hey Denise, how close are you to Mayberry? Is there even such a town? We've been watching a lot of Andy Griffith on DVDs lately. Merry Christmas!
Shammy, I've missed you so much! I completely forgot about your show. How did it go? I'll stop at your blog soon to see the details.
Betty, your "almost" reminded me that the reason I posted this was because I saw some Facebook accounts talking about their least favorites, and I wanted to be more positive. Your comment makes me curious though...
