Spring Colors
May 8, 2013
Lew picked this week's Headbanger's theme. We are going with "Spring
Colors." Check out my pals for their interpretations on this theme:
Fishing Guy,
Katney,
Imac and
Lew.
For me, Forsythia is what
does it. It has become to me the official announcement that Spring has
arrived. This started some years ago when I learned that the right time
to put the first application of lawn product is when you see the
Forsythia bloom in the same region. That's how you know what's
happening under the turf with the insidious Crabgrass, and you can catch
it before it grows up and chokes out the good grasses like Fescue, Rye
and Kentucky Bluegrass. I used a polarizing filter for the header shot,
because I wanted to show the deep blue in the sky in contrast to the
gorgeous Forsythia in full bloom.
Spring offers a lot of options for this theme, and here are some other ideas. I hope you like them.

I'm fond of this one--it's a juvenile (American) Robin up close and personal |

Love all your Spring colours Craver, hard to pick the best my friend
Craver: Certainly a very nice display of Spring Colors. Very nicely done my friend.
Striking header with the bright yellow against the dark blue! Here forsythia and daffodils are usually the first to bloom.
Same color sets the tone for spring at my house. It is dandelions, though.
Oh yes, it's forsythia for me too. I only wish it would last a little longer!!
I love the variety of your photographs, Craver. The beauty of colors in so many areas...stunning.
I love the juvenile bird, also.
I'm glad that you named it or I wouldn't have known what it was.
The budding magnolia is so pretty...a delicate blossom.
All your photos are wonderful; thank you so much for sharing your talent with me.
Hugs,
J.
Love the tulips and the crocus!
gorgeous spring flower shots!
beyond beautiful!
i linked to you today!
happy spring!
Your spring colours are gorgeous. I picked some forsythia sprigs and brought them into the house in the hope they would bloom with that lovely golden yellow, all I got were green leaves! Did you know in England it is sometimes called Winter Jasmine.
Beautiful selection of spring colors. Maybe you can send some over here ;-)
i love those crocuses. i wonder how wet you got taking that picture. hehehehe
