Header Challenge:dragonflies

September 4, 2013

This week's challenge is dragonflies. Check out my  pals for their interpretations on this theme: Fishing  Guy, Katney, Imac and Lew.

These shots were taken with my old two-point-one megapixel Sony Mavica. I was very pleased to see some decent macros from that old dinosaur.

I heard that dragonflies cannot use their legs to walk, but only to land.  Can anyone confirm whether that is true?

If you think you would like to join the Headbangers for our weekly challenge, please contact me.  My email address is in my profile.

Wow, that's a great shot. Sure glad those things aren't people sized. : )

Looks like it likes your sweater! Some of the small cameras make excellent close-up images.

Craver: I think we caught the same dragonfly this week.

Amazing what we can do with those older cameras.

Never heard that about its legs being used for landing and not walking. Come to think of it, I've never seen a dragonfly walk. (Makes sense. Otherwise, they'd be "dragonwalker. "). Hmmm.
Great close up. I agree with Stewart. It's the photographer who makes a great shot. Not the camera. )
Great one, Craver.

I *really* like the header image. So crisp and close-up. I'd love to join your group but given life's circumstances I can't guarantee I'll be there every week. But I'd try. :)
