wild animals
January 22, 2014
This week's challenge is
wild animals, selected by Christine. And by wild animals she means anything non-domestic and non-farm. That rules out my pets Check out my pals for their interpretations on this theme:
Fishing Guy,
Katney,
Imac,
Lew, and
Christine Anne.

Oh deer. These were close to a major road in my town. (Christine, they were in the field next to Independent Baptist on Boughton.) |
|
What kind of snake is this?? I'm guessing vanilla. |
|
This handler looked comfortable toting these reptiles around. |
|
The hawks probably hate when I position myself for a good shot. Especially when they're trying to look for food. |
|
Actually, I think this one was more annoyed AFTER it got lunch. This view makes it obvious that we're looking at a Red-Tailed Hawk --my favorite local predator! |

Another great hawk. We have many here in our area and I see them in tall trees along our route to the doctors.
Impressive shots of the hawks! Just do not try to take away his lunch.
Craver, wow on the deer. Neighbors have said they've seen them running around here every now and then, and we do have an issue with coyotes, but I've never gotten to shoot either of them. My deer was discovered in Boan Woods, to the right before you go down the hill to Hidden Lakes Farm. Neat little path through the woods there.
And I love your red tailed hawk images. I absolutely love seeing those guys in the 'burbs! Your image is way better than mine, for sure; what a great angle and light.
Craver: Nice hawk capture, I think it is a Cooper's Hawk in your header.
Believe it or not, I love all these creatures. (Yes, even the snake.)
We have an abundance of red hawks, and I noticed today that they were out and about in numbers!
Beautiful photography, Craver!
Love the header.

P.S. Genesis has intrigued me to the point that I am taking copious notes...in the beginning to keep up with the lineage (no pun intended with the "in the beginning" part)...but after that, I wanted to take notes so that I could review..and re-review. Been thinking about the fact that you are reading in the same area in the Bible as me. Been wondering what you've been thinking about all the "she's my sister" passages. :)
Hugs,
J.
I enjoyed all of your photos of the wild animals. I thought your second photo of the hawk was especially good. I wouldn't be nearly so comfortable carrying around one of those reptiles.

your header picture is fantastic too.
have a great day my friend!
