curves
April 23, 2014
This week's challenge is
curves; it was Christine's choice. Check out my pals for their
interpretations on this theme:
Womtig,
Fishing Guy,
Katney,
Imac,
Lew, and
Christine Anne.
We were notified that my wife's best friend was in her last hours, so we rushed to the hospital at the University of Michigan. It was approximately a 5-hour ride. We got there just in time to say goodbye, and late that night, after lots of hugs and tears, we made our way back downstairs. There was lots of art displayed in the hallways, and I saw a remarkable exhibit on the wall, and snapped a shot with my phone. (Sorry; I did not bring my DSLR because of the circumstances.) A hospital employee dutifully informed me that they have a policy of not allowing picture taking. That stuck me as an odd rule. I immediately put my phone back in the holster, but this really stunned me. I considered deleting the image, but decided to "bend" the rules and keep what I had already taken, so I could show you thousands of curvy pieces of colored paper. (I can't imagine why the hospital has such a policy, and I'm sure it's one of those goofy rules that had to be created because someone did something stupid or unjust to begin with.) So, for this week's header, I'm showing Anne Mondro’s “The Dragon of Wishes, Hopes and Dreams” which was displayed at the U of M Hospital.

So Sorry for the loss of a truly great friend of yours. Our thoughts are with the family and ev1.
Could have been the Dragon that St George killed As its St Georges day today.
Some nifty shots too my friend
My condolances on your loss also! Love the dragon and you found a nice collection of curves.
Mighty cool curves for your header Craver.
Offer your wife my condolences. The policy is probably related to patient privacy, though extended to the dragon in the hallway it is a bit beyond as many such rulings may be. There were some interesting shots I could have taken during my hubby's recent hospital stay, such as the tree growing on the roof and some art in some strange architectural spaces. I had enough with just finding my way to his room.
Craver, I'm so sorry for your family's (and your wife's) loss. I applaud you for keeping the image; that is an amazing piece of artwork. I've never heard of a policy like that at a hospital. I love the rest of your curves collection, too.
Sorry I'm late commenting on your curves... and so sorry to hear of your loss.
