grand finale

Our pictures haven't been developed yet, so I'll save the final update on our remodeling for later.

.

Meanwhile, having completed my work, I lived rich this weekend. Usually I cut my own hair, but my wife and kids treated me to the V.I.P. at a place called Sport Clips. I watched soccer on a big screen TV while I waited. Then they cut my hair and gave me a scalp massage, hot face towel, then neck and shoulder massage. Aaaaah...

.

Sunday, I accompanied my son to an absolutely spectacular kids birthday party! It was held at a really nice fitness facility. I was quite impressed. (Thanks, CLC!) They did rock-climbing, swimming, then pizza. After swimming, my son said he was having such a great time, he wanted to have his own birthday party there. I bellowed a hearty laugh when he said that, because his birthday is in late December!

Can't wait to see the results (of the remodeling, not the haircut. Or maybe the haircut too!). Sounds like your labors were rewarded.

I got tired just reading about all that activity...

I thought of you over the weekend. We made our first trip to the new Bass Pro shop yesterday. Twin B. kept saying, over and over, "HOLY COW!" Indeed!

Glad your time off was good!

Yup, your gonna have to post the hairdo too!

Glad you're finally done-we were beginning to wonder...

Love the TLC treatment. My hubby treated me to a 4 hour spa when I was pregnant (and bed ridden) with my last. *sigh* Lovely!

Welcome back. Rock-climbing - did you do it as well. I always suspected you had ``rock star'' quality!

First of all, there are no pictures of the haircut, and nobody really needs to see another picture of my tired mug.

**thinking**
On second thought... I didn't shave the whole week, and then on saturday, instead of shaving for my regular look, I left a goatee. It's pretty sad for most folks, but for me, this is being adventurous.

Um, no. we don't need to waste good film on that. There will be no portraits this time, kids.

Hey Llama Momma, did you guys see the animal tracks in the floors and the bear den under the stairs?

As this was a formal birthday party package through the fitness center David, none of the adults were given the opportunity to do any rock climbing. We mostly kept out of the way during that part, except for when our own little man tried to scale the wall. Then we'd go right up to instruct and encourage our own child, hoping Dad's voice didn't get lost in the sea of little boy voices. It was good fun and none of the dads got hurt that way. We enjoyed maximum participation swimming and eating pizza, though.

Rock star?? Hmmm... well, I did sing Splish-Splash with karaoke at another birthday party the week before...

Glad you're back, goatee and all!

In Taiwan, we call that hair cut thing a xi tou. (headwash) It is one of the luxuries of living overseas. :)

The birthday party sounded so fun! I have to say I'm pretty bad at planning parties. I try, but it's not something I'm good at. Big Dad usually gets that privilege. :)

Can't wait to see the pics!

I wondered about the new facial hair - interesting! wondered what you were thinking - what does Mrs Craver say!

I love to read about how your family honors one another! This is yet another example of that with all the celebration of your hard work...that Mrs. Craver, she sounds like an AMAZING lady...I feel like I learn so much from her through the stories on your blog!

See? Even though I made you cry telling you to think of the finished product, sounds like you're quite pleased with it now!

So was it that bad? Did you get so much spackle and paint in your hair that you had to cut it out? :)

Love to Mrs. Craver - she's getting to be quite a blog commentor all on her own!

It's a blessing to hear from you guys this morning. Your comments make me smile and sometimes laugh, and I have to tell you that I share the happiness with my department. (Not the comments, just the happiness.)

So Ini, there was no more crying; the project turned out okay. And LL, I wasn't too messy, and since I was working in a small space, I was careful to keep cleaning as I go. Mrs. Craver even rolled up her sleeves and helped me with some of the final steps. You're right, Spaghettipie. She's amazing.

No word yet on the goatee. I don't know whether she has no strong opinion about it or is simply being tolerant. We shall see, eh?

rock climbing? swimming? and then PIZZA?

Surely it should have been salad and water?

Thanks to Jenn, I now have a picture with my goatee. Well, um... sort-of, anyway.

Craver -- Welcome back. Can't wait to see the pictures -- and if I like what I see, I may ask you for an estimate on a little bathroom project I have going on. Are you for hire? :)

I love hearing the specifics of you the weekend you called "living rich." Perspective is everything!

Sounds like fun.

Man in Singapore, if you go to a salon, especially some of the ones in the local areas (ie. not the tourist areas), they wash your hair while you're in the chair, and use the soap to give you this awesome scalp and head massage. Bliss!!!!

Oh, I look forward to the photos as well... but the head massage *sigh*... ;)

Liked your Simpsons version of yourself! At the cinema there had been a large settee with life sized models of the Simpsons on it with a space for someone to sit on it as well. I went prepared with camera, but the settee had been removed and sent on somewhere else.
I was amazed at how disappointed I was!
Lorenzo.

I think we found the bear den, but missed the tracks. But with three boys, I'm guessing I'll have plenty of opportunities to visit again! :-)
