Sky Watch Friday!

Reluctant Sunset
Spring is... um, springing, and though many trees are still bare and the lawns dormant, we are enjoying the beginnings of this change of seasons.

.

This photo represents the sun's effort to usher in the spring. The sun wants to stay up later. Notice how it hangs on, waiting 'till the very last moment before yielding to the night.

.

But the conversion from last season is not instantaneous. Spring unravels in many layers, such as...

♥ waking to bird songs in the morning... they sound so cheery and optimistic

♣ the distinct popping sound from playing catch with mitts and its hypnotic cadence

♦ adjusting bicycles seats and filling tires for little riders

♠ garage sales, car washes, lemonade stands...

(There is no special reason for those symbols. It just looked like something fun.)

.

Please tell me what kind of things you look forward to in the spring.

.

Wanna join Sky Watch?

Hello again Craver..
Thank you for joining in again.. and with such a nice view as well.

The thing I look forward to most in spring is the return of the Leaves on the trees and the birds in the sky. Frogs and Toads in the pond. One other thing that I notice more of in spring is people walking around with a Smile on their faces.. Happy to see all that spring as to offer and the promise of the summer to follow.

Great Sky Watch post my friend

The sounds of games of catch and baseball and lawnmowers seem so distant, yet your reluctant sunset tells me Earth is eager to warm up! That's really lovely.

Nice. The photo is wonderful. The things that usher Spring in for me are strawberries, tulips, and my birthday :)

Very nice photo. I look forward to opening the windows, going outside without a jacket. Taking lots more photos because it's not too cold to be outside...longer days, etc.

I love the poetry of both photo and words - a reluctant spring - great sentiment -- it seems so many are having a very late spring.

FIFTY TWO COMMENTS???!!!!!

Spring is popular subject, eh? Lovely photo, and I would have to say that I look forward to the redbud and dogwood trees blooming. The pansies, tulips, daffodils, and all the other bright colored flowers that pop up at unexpected places, and of course all the birds. The return of the multi-talented mockingbirds is one of my favorite spring-time events.
