teach a man to fish...

This is what I did with all the extra free time while camping. I went FISHING! It has been said that I am so obsessed with this new hobby that I'll dip a lure if I find a puddle in the middle of a parking lot. It would be more fun if I knew what I was doing, but a bad day of fishing is better than a good day doing just about anything else.

.

On his second cast, Brother Greg got this little guy, but that's all we were going to see during the entire expedition.

.

There were lots of fish in the lake, but we just couldn't coax them out of the water. We weren't having any luck with lures and night crawlers, so I wondered if there might be any other effective way of winning this contest...

See Lime. That's why I am not as eager about camping as my wife is. I like it, but she loves it. I see much of it as work. She works harder at it, but enjoys it more. To me, fishing is peaceful and beautiful. But for relaxation, I'd rather be in my own bed, than anywhere else.

I have heard something like that, Mommanator. Actually, what I heard was that someone used bits of hot dog. I haven't tried either, yet. Mostly, I just use lures. I have a small tube of stinky stuff that the fish are supposed to like.

There was a ten-year-old kid who caught 6 or more the night before, and according to his dad, he wasn't even using good technique.

I used a few worms, nAncY. These fish nibbled them OFF the steel without getting hooked!!! I don't know how they did that. But we only used a few worms that we found under a log; I didn't bring a whole bunch. Maybe that's what I need to concentrate on next... using just live worms.

Fishing Guy, my buddy and I joke about dynamite every time we are unsuccessful. Because of that, I have wanted to take that dynamite photo for months. Finally, I wrapped red felt around a paper tube and it turned out pretty good if I say so myself. :-)

Ah Boom Boom - Wet Wet.
Watching a float go bob bob bobbin around - makes me go sleep, might as well enjoy it by having a can of beer.

I didn't know guys went fishing to catch FISH! I thought it was so you could enjoy each others' company. The fish knew that and didn't want to spoil your fun. ;-)
