arachno-photos

I do not understand the fear of spiders... I mean that someone would be more afraid of these than any other creepy crawlies. Does it count for nothing that they kill mosquitoes?! Plus, in contrast to the local micro phlebotomist union, spiders do not seek people out and continually pester them. My arachnid friends sit politely, minding their own business, and they even pose nicely for the camera. C'mon, what's not to love!!

I must admit my friend, you did wonderfully well here, they are grand shots.

I don't mind spiders at all. I found a huge one on my wall over the weekend, I trapped him under a glass, took a few shots and then let him go (outside, mind you). Most people think I'm crazy but I LOVE tarantulas, I used to have one 10 years ago. I would love to get another one but with the birds (Leeloo and Queequeg) it's not a safe idea.
Cool photos!

These are great shots Craver! I really like seeing spiders to eat the "bad" bugs and take photos of course. But, I have had some bites that are not too fun. Outside fine, in the house after the photo they go out.

Nice spider shots. I don't mind spiders either and find them fascinating.

That is nice to hear from you, Imac. Very kind, indeed.

Wendy, why do they think it's crazy to keep a mild mannered, clean creature, as opposed to spending lots of money for a noisy spaniel who chews on the remote control and goes potty on the carpets? It just seems a little out of balance to me.

I have never been bitten by a spider, Gaelyn. I suppose that could be a special motivator, eh?

You too, Happyone? The family was entertained by a spider last night. We were driving home from a friend's house, and interrupted one spider's trek on our side window. It was funny to see it fight the breeze while hanging on, and then take a few quick steps when we stopped or turned. Meh, I guess it doesn't take a lot to amuse us.

Craver: Why I would say a Black Widow bite has to help the fear.

Great pictures, but I have to say I don't like spiders at all. All those legs. UGH!

And a brown reclouse spider bite is nasty, and incredibly ugly. My sister-in-law was bit twice. Nasty spider my friend. I don't encourage the faint-hearted to look at what their bites do. Nasty.

You've almost convinced me to befriend these critters, but I'm not sure I would get close enough to get such great pictures.

I see a fellow spider enthusiast - well watch out that they do not bite.

I have never seen a Black Widow, Fishing Guy. I do not mind skipping that experience.

Shammy, if Nair or Lady Remington were smart, they could make a lot of money removing unsightly bristles from all those legs, don't you think? ;-)

I have seen photos of the damage done by the Brown Recluse, Sandman. It does not make me any more afraid, because spiders do not generally go on the prowl for humans. Even the name does not incite fear. Imagine "Attila the Recluse."

I've been called that before, Mr. Dave. But I have never been bitten by one of these guys... radioactive or otherwise.

George, I am so used to seeing them stay still or shrink away, that I almost popped out of my skin when I tried to catch a giant spider in the Philippines, and it JUMPED!!

Welcome, Zane!! Yes, well... if I bite back, they would be in worse shape than me. They usually just keep all their beady little eyes on me, but stand very still.

May be true Craver, but you won't convince my sister in law of that.

I also have a friend who got bit by a black widow. Nasty. But it wasn't as bad as the Recluse was.
Though I have heard of Black Widow bites that have caused near death.

I guess I have a like/hate feeling about spiders bro.

But I do bow to your appreciation for this creature that God made.

Spiders are really incredible creatures.

Neat shots, Craver. I'm not really afraid of spider though I DO tend to jump when I first see one.

i'm not terrified of them the way some people are but i do prefer that they keep their distance when they are especially large.

I didn't know they kill mosquitos - well, in that case, they've just been elevated to my favorite invertebrates.

Sandman, I really have a twisted mind. That reminds me of the snakebite joke where a man gets bit in the backside and learns who his true friends are.

Yeah, that's pretty much the same as me, EG.

Right. Not a phobia, but more like "better safe, than sorry." I can see that, Lime.

Sure ESI... mosquitoes are appetizers and between-meal snacks.
