grandpa quiz

Grandpa quiz

First Question: There are jumbo Legos piled up on the floor, but your grandson isn't playing with them. Do you:

a) show him how to do it by building something?

b) allow him to find his own use for the blocks?

c) find a way to build something together?

.

The answer I chose is:

d) None of the above. Shove the blocks aside and wrestle.

.

Next Question: You set him on your bed while picking out dinner attire, and he starts playing with the wall decorations above your bed. Do you:

a) tell him not to touch those things?

b) let him explore the decorations, even if he could destroy them.

c) move him off the bed?

.

My answer?:

d) None of the above (again). Forget about picking out clothes, take his hands, and start jumping on the bed.

.

I made sure this week that he would know me, not as his personal photographer, but as Grandpa (or Poppa). I had forgotten how much repetition they require. While I sat on the floor with him, he would walk up, bump me, and I tumbled back, taking him down with me while pleading, "Get him off of me!" He laughed hard. Then we would get up, and he would do it again. And again. And again... That was a good workout.

.

Speaking of which, I would like to devote this blog entry to the makers if Advil and Tylenol. And a very special thank-you to my own Mrs. Craver, who took these pictures.

Sounds like you made some memories! I'm already thinking about grandchildren, and it's still a ways away! Glad you had fun.

Christine

Lucky Poppa, getting to spend some quality time with the littlies. And I'm sure you realise that all the best people have red hair!

Grand children are such a special joy, and gift from our Lord. He does like us to have joy, along with our sorrows and pain.

My 3 g-sons call me Pop. And I have "another" g-son on the way, due around Thanksgiving.

Have a blessed and joyful lord's day, because Jesus died for me, and the Father gave His Son for me; for us.

Mrs. Craver takes great pictures and you have an adorable grandson. I also think he has a fantastic grandpa who spends time with him and makes his young life so much fun. This is what it is all about.

There's nothing like it, Christine. I just wish we could see them more often.

That was the impression I got by the end of the week, Gaelyn. Rylan and I had a special bond, and I look forward to the next time we get to play together.

Well Shammy, my daughter would certainly agree with you there! I'll tell you what... at the very least, it makes it easy to spot them at the playground! (lol) When my children were little, people would ask if we colored their hair. (gasp) No way!

One week was just about right for this visit, Lime. We are almost out of Advil and Tylenol. Nevertheless, we would love to do it again some time.

This time was good for my other children too, Sandman. My youngest played catch with a football a couple times. He's starting to put a nice spiral on the ball.

Oh, but I had SO much difficulty with my camera this past week, Mommanator! The aperture and flash trigger refused to obey orders.

That's the thing, Wendy. It was every bit as much fun for me, as it was for him. Maybe more so! Aah, I guess I'm incurable.

Thank you kindly, Denise. It's nice that he is a handsome little boy, but I gotta tell you... those ribs are delicious!!! It is the funniest thing when he anticipates the attack and hesitantly brings his arm up. (ahem) I think I just got something in my eye. (sniffle)
