on the morrow

The sun sets on one day, promising to return in a few hours. Its yielding of the sky to twinkling stars is only temporary, because he will return soon to rule the day again.

.

Leafless trees are barren for a season. A frosty breeze strips them bare to reveal another form of glory in their creative lines, their shape, their originality.

.

A noisy escapee from the recycle bin performs its random and noisy dance in the gusty breezes. It rushes here, then there, crashing occasionally, and then suddenly stopping - as if out of breath.

.

Standing there, I soak it all in. Someone steps outside, chin tucked, and begins the hasty charge to the calm inside their car. "What are you so happy about?" they ask. I smile and say, "no mosquitoes."

.

But I know they will return. And so will the leaves. And so will the sun. Lord willing, I will be here to enjoy them all again.

I've known you're a wonderful photographer, but this post shows you are also a wonderful photographer. I really like both your pictures and your words.

Beautiful shot, and yeh that's why we have several seasons mate, to enjoy them differently for different reasons, one being the absence of mosquitoes ;-)

Thanks, Happyone.

Yes it is, Imac. Who drank the other half? ...That's what I want to know!

Life is good, Gaelyn. I'm just reporting it like I see it. :-)

Thanks George. I was happy with the photograph, but when trying to come up with words for it, I felt compelled to do something with contrasts, a life versus death kind of thing.

Believe it or not Chris, I am still seeing a few mosquitoes, but not very many.

Nice pic Craver.

"The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork."

"...his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither."

Truth is edifying.

This is a stunning shot Craver and your words give one something to think about. Yes, thank goodness everything in nature returns in the next season although I cannot say the same about the mosquitoes. :)

Glad you liked it, Mommanator. I hope things are well with you.

Believe it or not Shammy, I was in the wrong place at that time. I was on the opposite side of the building, setting up the tripod for a moon shot, when someone called me over to take a picture of this side.

Psalms 1 & 19 are favorites of mine Sandman. Even the tree planted by streams of water yields fruit "in its season." There is wisdom in that. My part, as I live in this season is to practice contentment.

Thank you for visiting, Money Paradise. I hear that "the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil." What say you?

Welcome, Frank. That was a nice compliment, coming from you, especially after discovering that you have a gift for taking outstanding photographs.

My pleasure, Lime. All things in their proper season.

A positive outlook on the changing seasons is a healthy perspective, don't you think Joan? I thank the Lord that he is giving us a break from the mosquitoes, though.

I like this shot, Craver! The sky is lovely but I also see a certain beauty in bare limbs. I guess that's on reson I don't mind the coming of winter as much as some others do.
