painted sunrise

There is not much going on outside for me these days. I am usually hurrying to get out of the weather, and into someplace warm and dry... especially if I can find hot chocolate and peanut butter cookies!

.

I hope it's not too tacky, but I saw a nice sunrise on Sunday and thought I'd fiddle around with it in post editing. I ran it through a program that makes it look painted, but then pulled back a bit from that effect. This one is more intense than the original photo, but less intense than the paint feature wanted to make it.

.

The next photo remained natural, but instead of allowing the silhouette, I added flash. That way, we can see the snow on the branches.

Love them both! And the next time you run across a batch of peanut butter cookies, let me know! They are my favorite.

Charity, my buddy Brother Greg is a cookie fiend, and likes to include dessert when he makes dinner. The last few times, we have had fresh, warm, heavenly, PB cookies. Mmmmm...

Mr. Dave, I try to think positive about the weather, but somewhere around the end of January, I usually feel like I have had quite enough.

Thank you kindly, EG. I didn't know how my tampering would be received.

Imac, are you talking about the painting show, where the host talks (with a German accent) about the magic weiss? I haven't seen that show in years. I wonder if it's still on.

I do love me some silhouettes, Gaelyn. Happy New Year!

Thanks George. I try not to go overboard with it, but it's fun.

A color compliment from the tie-dye lady. Thank you Lime!

I hope I can make a good showing for your Phun Post, Imac.

A quick comment to wish you and your family a VERY HAPPY, PROSPEROUS and PRODUCTIVE New Year, Mr Craver! I've been laid low with vast amounts of cold germs, a broken computer monitor, unpacked boxes and Christmas Cheer, so haven't been visiting or commenting. But now I'm back with bells on, as they say. I hope your Christmas was merry and fun.

That sounds like something I could sink my battle axe into, Imac!

As a bonus Mommanator, these were taken from the church steps. It was a call to worship prior to the Call to Worship.

So glad that you're feeling better, Shammy! Those were very kind words you said. I wish your new year would be just as blessed.

Happy New Year Chris! Thank you for the encouragement. Your inspiration will likely make me work harder for bird pictures this upcoming year.
