a Sunday afternoon stroll

Mrs. Craver and I double-dated last Sunday. This was all a gift from the other couple. After church, we dined at the Olive Garden in Bolingbrook. I ordered the Venetian Apricot Chicken. That tasted so amazing, it should be on your bucket list!

.

Then we drove into downtown Chicago to see The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey at the Provision Theater. It was a feel-good event, for sure!

.

Finally, we parked close to Daley Plaza and walked through the crowded, chilly streets for an outdoor display called Christkindlmarket. That's when I took out the camera and "went to town." (Yes, that pun was totally intended.)

.

What's in this collage? Clockwise from top left:
  1. the Picasso at Daley Plaza
  2. the Channel 2 (CBS) newsroom
  3. pigeons huddling around the Eternal Flame memorial
  4. the wonderful Mrs. Craver next to the happiest man in the world
  5. a peek at the Sears (Willis) Tower from the inside of the minivan
  6. one of my favorite landmarks--the clock at Marshal Fields (Macy's)
  7. an amusing, blue, light sculpture, and
  8. some of the German crafts from Christkindl Market

What a lovely evening for you and Mrs. Craver. Dinner at Olive Garden, seeing "Christmas Miracle" and then strolling together outdoors and enjoying the sights and sounds...and being with each other. I can't think of anything any more special, Craver. Wonderful blog and photos!!
Hugs and warmest smiles to you both,
Jackie

Happyone, we were seated next to a wine rack, so I asked our server if she could leave a corkscrew with us. She said she was going to inventory the bottles when we left. They were very good. I have always had a good experience there, too.

Your hug and warm smile is especially appreciated today, Jackie. We have cold rain. It's good weather to sit around a fireplace.

I'm glad you were able to have an evening out with Mrs. Craver. It sounds like a wonderful evening from dinner to the trip downtown. I really like your collage.

Oh, it was a glorious day, Imac. On so many levels. We will have a bunch of sweet memories from that day.

Funny thing about the collage, George... my battery indicator read low the whole time, and I thought each picture would be my last, but it hung on. I use rechargeables, and the spares were totally dead. Say, have you heard that daffynition of a flashlight? It is a cylinder used to hold dead batteries.

Great day out, Craver and the Missus. Nice shots of all the Christmassy sights. We used to have Olive Garden restaurants here, but I'm not sure if they still operate in this area.

She used to be more shy about pictures, EG. I'm so proud to show off her beautiful smile.

That was such an amazing day, Betty. I think my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much. Thanks for the compliment for Mrs. Craver.

No worries, Shammy. Good company always trumps good restaurants. What kind of places do you like to go to when you want to please the palate?
