diptych

diptych

March 26, 2014

This week's challenge is diptych selected by Katney.  Check out my pals for their interpretations on this theme: Fishing Guy, Katney, Imac, Lew, and Christine Anne.

From Wikipedia: A diptych is any object with two flat plates attached at a hinge.  "Diptych" is also often used in reference to films or pieces of literature that form a complementary pair. When taken together, they are viewed as illuminating each other and comprising a distinct work of art from the individual parts.

Today's header shows a pair of images taken from a Christmas party.  Among the activities in the gymnasium, there was a "pin the tail on the donkey" kind of thing with heart stickers and the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.  There came a lull in activity and these teens took advantage of the opportunity to give this fellow a thorough spin and share a few good-natured chuckles.

Sounds like a fun game. Well, looks like Mac didn't have as much trouble as he thought. I've not had as much trouble with the current version of word verification as with some of the earlier ones.

And just as I posted that I see that the duplicate comment has been removed and my thoughts sound like dithering--oh, well, sometimes I do dither.

I'm sorry about the inconvenience, but I had been getting tons of spam lately, so I felt forced to increase security measures. Next week, I'll turn Word Verification off to see if the spamming has been significantly curbed.

Duplicate comments, Kat? But what ever do you mean? (snarky laugh)

(Yes, I'll delete duplicate comments when I clearly see that it was unintended.)

I had no idea what a diptych was.
I had to study the word carefully to even try to pronounce it! :))
Great photos...and I especially love the one of the ant.
Husband got me a new lens for Valentine's Day, and I am trying to learn to use it.
Sending warmest regards to you, my friend.
J.

Great diptychs, Craver! I love the fun involved with your header, but I think my favorite is the couple silhouetted in the stained-glass window pairing. Nice!

I've never tried a dyptich before. Oh how I hate those word verification thingies, though! :)
