STEAMING into the NEW YEAR

December 31, 2014

This week's challenge selection is steaming into the new year by Imac. Check out my pals for their interpretations on this theme: Fishing Guy, Katney, Imac, Lew, and Christine Anne.

There are some good possibilities for this header, but I'm going to go out of the box for this one.

The last few weeks, I have been very busy with much-appreciated opportunities to take pictures for other people. That has taken a good chunk of my time, but that hardly matters when you're doing something you enjoy. This week's header represents a providential break that I nabbed while taking a random seat at a potluck. There were mostly ladies there, and after welcoming me to their table, they continued a conversation about pedicures and pretty feet. Not letting this intimidate me, I broke into the conversation by blurting, "I have pretty feet." We laughed, and they explained that they were going to model for a book cover, but the art director had not yet acquired a photographer. I went home that night, and did some research. The next day, I told the art director that if they hadn't secured a photographer, I would like to take the job. She said yes!! That means that the original photo from this week's header is eventually going to grace the cover of a book, which will most appropriately be called Barefoot.

Lord willing, I will be looking for more occasions to create photographs for other people in the coming year. As those feet are walking, steadily moving forward, so will I. By means of business cards and targeted inquiries, that is how I plan to be steaming into the new year.
