something new

something new

January 7, 2015

This week's challenge selection is something new by Christine. Check out my pals for their interpretations on this theme: Fishing Guy, Katney, Imac, Lew, and Christine Anne.

What shall we use for something new? This here, is one of my Christmas prezzies. I do not know who exactly bought this for me, but on Christmas, I opened a package which contained a smallish hatchet with some Swiss-Army type accessories in the handle. The header shows the size when compared to a pen. It comes with a pouch, so that the proud owner can carry this thing around. The header shot was made with a large sheet of white paper, and I bounced the flash off the ceiling. "Product shots" don't need a lot of work when they're taken this way.

Honestly, I do not know whether it was meant to be a gag gift! What does one do with a mini-hatchet? The hammer side would make a loud door-knocker. Unfortunately, the tool would also leave some very visible distress marks. Imagine the effort this would require if one wanted to use this hatchet to chop firewood!! What do you think? What are some possible uses for the mini-hatchet? ...I mean, besides making other dudes jealous as I walk around with an ax on my belt?

Hello. Is anyone home?

This dude's gotta be tough... he carries a hatchet multi-tool!

I don't think I've ever seen a mini hatchet. Maybe you will start a new trend.

Well, not as a hatchet perhaps, but the screwdriver, saw blade, jackknife, wrench and hammer parts might occasionally be useful.

Indeed a great shot! Keep the tool handy, it may save you some trouble when big toolbax is in the garage.

Love those multi tools! We have one, and Thomas used the hatchet attachment to break up the old falling-apart wishing well in my porch garden. Hmm, I dunno--dice potatoes? Seems like it'd be a great kitchen tool!

It's for chopping up little sticks when you want to start a fire.
