an historical event

It's party time!!
Hey y'all, we're making history here. This is my 500th post! To celebrate, I'm throwing a cyber party. Everyone's welcome! As this is a party, I suggest that you check box to email followup comments. Have fun with each other's comments! The more the merrier.

.

Here's what I want you to do: Please bring a friend. By that I mean, someone famous from history. You may explain why if you want to, but if you don't include an explanation, that's fine.

.

Plus, describe for us what you brought to the party.

.

Oh, and please remove your shoes as you step inside.

.

Congratulations Craver, and what a fun idea. I am happy to come to your party. I will be bringing Alexander Hamilton. He was the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. At the age of 21 he was George Washington's right hand man. Alex and I stopped drinking tea because of the tax thing and started drinking coffee so we will be probably be bringing a lot of java to your party ;)

Cheers!! Congratulations Craver on your 500th posts! -throws confetti-
I'm not sure who I will bring, but I'll have chicken nachos with me! Can't be a proper party without nachos, right? hehe :P

It's fun because you're here, Denise! Now, we've got ourselves a party!! Hey, great idea... bringing Big Al; he would be an outstanding person to chat with. I gave him a Hawaiian shirt and bluejeans, just to see if anyone can recognize him.

Sean Connery, Joan?!! I gotta see what he drove. Do you think he would let me take those wheels for a spin later?

No Lime, it's still early. Mmmmm... brownies and doritos go so well together! I see that Dr. Carver has sampled some of my Jif peanut butter, and he seems quite proud of himself. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't come up with a new idea for peanuts before he leaves; the man is a genius!

Uh, Lime... did you know that your tee shirt is inside out?

Chicken nachos? Sounds good, Leeloo. I've never had them before. You can plug the croc-pot in right there. Would they go good with jalapeño slices? What else is in there? Oh, nevermind--that's confetti.

Is it a posh do Craver, do I need to wear my suit and dicky?? or is it casual wear.

I hope you have got music from the 60s too, so I can have a jig or 2.

I will bring a barrel of Fosters with me.

As to the famous person, I'll bring the chappie who lived near Grantham, the Apple man?? any ideas yet?? He discovered Gravity, come on you all should know now???

Craver: Congrats on your 500Th. I have thought about who to bring and came up with Cleopatra. Her beauty alone should liven up your gig. I'm bringing a box load of T-bones for the grill, I hope it's ready to cook.

Casual is fine, Imac. I'm doing the tie-dye tee shirt with a black sportcoat. You don't want to be too dressed up, since we're leaving the shoes at the door.

You brought Ike? Excellent!! Check that out... Sir Isaac Newton and Dr. Carver... renowned scientists from different eras, yet brothers in the Lord.

Gee Fishing Guy, I don't know which is more beautiful, Cleopatra or them steaks! The grill is already fired up!!

Nice party. I'm bringin' Martin Luther and John Owen. That should keep us occupied awhile! Imac's bringin' the Foster's and it should be a hoot!

imac said...

I'll bring the lights too, they should brighten up the sky.lol
(as in my Blog)

Oh wow! Congratulations! I'm bringing pizzelles because it's the holidays and I always make them for the holidays. (They're like potato chips in that you can't eat just one... or two... or two dozen...) I think I'll bring Joseph. I'll bring Edmund Dantes because I just think he's so cool.

No chance Craver. If anyone is going to take that Aston Martin for a spin it is going to be me. :) Sorry!! On the otherhand, if you ask nicely I might take you with me but remember the passenger seat can eject. LOL!!

Craver: Since you won on the guessing game maybe a few more guest will drop by.

Wendy said...

Hahaha, yes, jalapeño is a MUST!

Craver Vii said...

Check it out Brother Greg: Johann Tetzel is here, too! I don't know who invited him, but it should make for some lively conversation. Oh wait... while Tetzel was helping himself to a pint of Foster's, Luther gave him a wedgie. I think we're gonna have trouble...

You brought a keg, and now you're talking about getting lit, Imac?

Which Joseph, Louise? Do you mean Jacob's favored son? That is one of my all-time favorite heroes. And Dantès? Oh good! I hope Jacopo comes too!

(Pretending not to hear Joan as I sneak towards Sean Connery's Aston Martin.)

Your friends are always welcome, Fishing Guy! (inhaling deeply) Mmmm... those steaks are coming along nicely.

Still no idea on who to bring Leeloo? Maybe a hero or someone who could react interestingly with anyone already here. It could be anyone. I am growing more and more curious to hear who you might come up with.

Meet George Eliot. He's... I mean, she's...

boy, I'm so glad that women writers can be women writers now!

Jo Castillo said...

I'll bring tamales with red chile, I make them for Christmas. I'll bring Leonardo da Vinci so he can record the event in some paint.

Craver: this party is starting to heat up. You won't need your camera with the famous painter and inventor visiting. Show him your flash set-up, he will be impressed.

Craver Vii said...

I don't think I've read any of Mary Anne's work, LL. Is there something that she has written that stands out as a favorite for you? I hope I can talk her into going to church.

I like the kind, grandfatherly way they portrayed Da Vinci in Ever After. Jo, did you see that movie? Say, who is that attacking your tamales and red chili; is that Simón Bolívar? Save some for the rest of us dude! Oh-oh... sword. Nevermind buddy; help yourself.

Heating up you say? Actually Fishing Guy, I think that's Carver and Newton making something.

Yo, Tetzel! I told you man, NO SOLICITING!! Priest or no, you're gonna get hurt if you keep it up; got it?

Sorry guys; he was trying to sell indulgences to Cleopatra.

Hey, somebody resculpted Mount Rushmore, whassup with that?

Craver you did good; 500! Cool beans!

Maybe I see if RC Sproul can make it. He's quite a nice fellow, and likes to party I hear.

imac said...

Hey, Craver - whos that in the bathroom, lots of giggles in there?, do you have a 2nd Loo??.

This Is My Blog - fishing guy said...

Craver: The party was great, the steaks are gone along with all the other food and drink. I had a great time and am glad you got to meet Cleo. Got to run to other parties for the season.

Craver Vii said...

Good choice, Sandman. I count Sproul as one of the most significant contributors to the church today.

Imac, I think some of the girls were scheming in there. Watch your back, my friend.

Thanks for visiting, Fishing Guy. Cleo always seemed to have a crowd around her. I hope she had a good time.

Wendy said...

Hm, I would bring either Fox Mulder or Dana Scully, simply because they're the coolest ever.

PS. X-files geek over here!

Carletta said...

You look quite natural up there!
Congrats on #500!

I guess I missed the party but I would have brought Jack Sparrow. What's a good party without a pirate - a pretty one too. Not ARRGGH but AHHHHH! ;)

imac said...

Night all, thanks for a great party Craver, and congrats on your posts.

EG CameraGirl said...

OH NO! I missed the party! Story of my life, Craver. Especially this time of year! Congrats on 500 posts!

I can't believe I missed a chance to meet Sean Connery! But hey! Maybe he's still here. I'll look around...if that's OK with you. ;-)

what a cute idea! I would bring Mother Teresa, cause she was one of a kind and so poetic, besides her ministry!
I would bring some huggs & kisses to finally meet ya and something good to eat like chicken & dumplings!

Craver Vii said...

Oh, both Leeloo. Definitely both. I haven't seen that show in a while, but liked it a lot.

Jack Sparrow would be lots of fun for a party, that's for sure! I think someone will have to frisk him before he leaves though to make sure he hasn't stolen anything. In fact Carletta, I think he would be offended if we did NOT suspect him... I mean, he IS a pirate, after all.

You still awake Imac? Good night, sir. Sleep tight.

EG, can I tell you what I would like, if Sean Connery really came to my party? I love to hear it when a person with a strong accent mimics the American accent. Last week, we watched a movie that Sean Connery was in, and my daughter turned to me and said, "Dad, he sounds like Draco.

Mother Teresa? I wonder what kind of parties she has attended. Mommanator, it would be gratifying to be able to serve this noble lady who has served many others.

I'm a hugger, so I'd gladly accept those kisses & hugs. Yumm... chicken & dumplings!
