.
I tried to make up for the early start by taking a 20-minute nap in the afternoon. Instead of saying I was gonna take a nap, I told my wife I was "going upstairs to wrinkle my shirt." She knew exactly what I meant, because I heard her tell the kids to "keep it down so your dad can get some rest." Afternoon ciestas are a beautiful thing. Maybe not as beautiful as a sunrise, but you know what I mean, right?

What a stunning and beautiful shot Craver!! Sometimes we can miss all this beauty by just a few minutes so I am please you were early and managed to get this shot for us.
What a beautiful sky to wake up early for. Like the silohuets against the bright colors. Glad you got to wrinkle your shirt later.
Pink sky in the morning, sailor take warning; pink sky at night, sailor's delight.
Great pic!
And I love afternoon snoozes too.
Good morning Craver! What a beautiful sight to wake up to! Thanks for sharing this with us :)
lol @ wrinkle my shirt. good one. i've been known to "check my eyelids for light leaks."
what a beautiful sky you captured
Gracias Joan. Sunrises and sunsets change so dramatically in just a few minutes. I'm glad I had the camera handy.
I like silhouettes, too Gaelyn. I started doing that after seeing some pics from our friend Imac.
So I've heard, Sandman. I have also heard it said with "red sky." For the record though, I did not notice any rough weather that day.
I hope it is not too intimate a detail to share Leeloo, but the beautiful sight I wake up to is my bride. I am especially fond of her long dark hair, and the glorious silver strands mixed in. She is a classy person, even in her sleep. After that, the sunrise was just okay. :-)
(yawn) You know Lime, I think I could go for an inspection of my eyelids even now. Alas, my duties prevent it.
That's the great thing about photography, Mommanator. We can capture and hold things that are not otherwise subject to keep.
Craver, that is the sweetest thing I've ever read. :)
Red sky didn't fit with your photo, so I changed it.
And, yeah, I have noticed that saying does hold water, do it.
Craver: Neat photo, we have not seen the sun for a while and it looks like gray skies until Saturday.
Wow! That's a spectacular shot. Thanks for sharing that bit of God's handiwork. Magnificent!
It do, Sandman. :-P
Ironically, Fishing Guy... record snowfalls stifled global warming legislation this week, and a GW protest in Washington was snowed out last year--around the same time. I hope your weather improves soon, but it probably won't be due to any popular climate myth.
Thank you, Sully. It is always a treat when you stop by, Sir.
Oops. Leeloo, I didn't mean to skip over your comment. I'm glad you liked that. Maybe you can read it to your birds for inspiration. (lol)
Thanks, though. And I made sure to tell my wife what I think of her. :-)
Yes, I LOVE it when I take an afternoon nap. I should do it more often.
The sunrise is a stunner!
OH, I SO know what you mean. ;)
Beautiful shot!
