After a while, it got a little darker, so I checked the camera settings and snapped a test shot. Then I waited. Still, nothing..
I did not move from my position. From that spot, I chatted with the wife and kids, ate dinner, pet the dog, pondered the meaning of life, etc. (sigh) Nothing yet..
Finally, it got dark. I tried the flash. The regular one is too harsh, so I used the flash I modified with a home-made diffuser. That looked good. Now all I need is that little chickadee. You know what happened next? Right. Nothing..
Eventually, I had to pack things away. Maybe I will do the same thing another time, and hope for better results..
Speaking of "he is not here," I hope you have an especially wonderful weekend. If you do not celebrate Easter the same way I do, I hope you at least have deep thoughts regarding the empty tomb. He is risen.

He is risen indeed!
"In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. He [JESUS] presented Himself ALIVE to them after His suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God."- Dr. Luke, From his epistle, Acts of the Apostles, chapter 1 verses 1 thru 3.
Oh, you had a lot of patience. Next time you'll get the shot. ;)
A Happy and Blessed Easter to you and your family!
Patience is a virtue Craver. I like you test shots.
Blessings for you and family during Easter and beyond.
Ha! Seems the photos I plan to take rarely happen. My best one are the ones I have "happened" into. Story of my life, actually!
Happy Easter, Carver!
gives you a whole new level of appreciation for wildlife photographers doesn't it?
wishing you and your family a wonderful easter too!
"Theophilus." What a great name. You bring up a good point, Sandman. It is not only that the tomb of Christ was empty. More than that, Jesus presented himself alive, there were lots of eye witnesses, and it has been documented by numerous sources. I am so glad that a person of faith does not have to chuck his brain out the window in order to believe.
Carletta, it's a tricky thing, trying to balance that patience with my regular responsibilities. You can trust that I will not lose myself in photography to the point of neglecting my wife and kids, but I sure do hope I can catch that little chickadee.
Welcome back, Gaelyn. I hope you are readjusting well to your time zone.
I hear that, EG. I get an idea for something that I want, and it is hard for me to think about anything else, but when I stay vigilant, I find other things along the way.
It sure does Lime. Especially when that is their livelihood! Can you imagine the pressure to find those great shots? Yowser!
