a new season

This is the camera I have been working with since mid-November, 2007. It is a point-and-shoot with 2.1 megapixels. That is modest by today's standards, but believe me, this camera has been a huge blessing, and I am thankful for God's bountiful provision. I have become comfortable with it, and expect to continue enjoying it for a long time.

.

And now, allow me to present a recent cohabitor of my camera bag. As of this week, I march on and spring ahead with the addition of a Pentax ist DL. This used camera came from the same family that I got the Mavica from. It is a 6 megapixel, entry level DSLR, and I am eager to familiarize myself with all these lovely knobs and buttons and settings. Ain't it purdy?

That's a beautiful new camera Craver. I am sure you will have many happy hours with it, and that your old camera will still be put to good use. Thank you for visiting and always making me chuckle with your wonderful sense of humor. Have a great weekend.

This camera is compatible with a flash I already have, so that's a bonus. I like visiting with you and Gregg, Denise. You are nice people, and that comes across through your blog.

Your blessing was granted, Sandman! Sunday worship was fantastic. The message from 1st Thessalonians had an impact on a lot of people.

Yes indeedy, Shammy! There's more to it than I can handle right now. I'm looking forward to growing into it.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Wales, Imac. That's where my 8th grade teacher was from.

Craver: It is a beauty, start with the automatic setting and see what it can do.

Hi,
Congrats on the new camera and I guess you will have a lot of fun with that! I can wait to see the new pictures!

To answer your question, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm never using a tripod!! You will just get use to the weight of the 300mm lens and your camera.... I just learned to steady myself and the photo gear as much as possible, and just a little trick, use the multi-shot option instead of the one shot option... It helps a lot!

Congratulations, Craver. Getting a new camera is tons of fun...ana a little bit frustrating until you learn all its funny quirks. I know you'll enjoy it!

I just used up all my lunchtime messing around with the camera, Leeloo. Maybe the camera is too much fun; it's intoxicating.

Automatic setting, Fishing Guy?? Mwaaa ha ha haaaaa...

... (I fainted.) No tripod, Chris?! Man, I gotta switch to decaf! I'll try the multi-shot option. Thanks for the helpful notes here, and at Leeloo's.

Ah, EG... my camera and I will be competing for quirkiness. I have already learned that the battery meter jumps from "half-power" to "I don't feel like taking pictures any more." Fortunately, when I get angry, I don't slam or throw things. If I did, we wouldn't be looking at any more pictures from Craver. I ought to start counting how many times each day I get to that point where I could say, "One day I'll look back on this and laugh." Short term memory loss prevents me from laughing the whole day long!!
