The music reached a new high at Easter service. Before leaving I wondered what it would be like if that same level was maintained every week.
It is not practical though, is it? This worship leader put some crazy hours into the preparation for this program. And we simply do not have the time or the resources to operate at the same level on a weekly basis. But imagining that somehow it could be done...

Love that violin pic. My Littlest plays the violin.
I think it is a cello, but I'm not sure. I should have asked the owner, since she approached me right after I took the photo. You see, I placed a card on the bridge so I could manually focus. I guess they go out of tune if you even look at them funny, and she walked over when she saw me fiddling with it.
It was a nice touch to the music that day.
Would have loved to have been there with you at your service. Though I was very blessed at my church as well.
Easter is one of those high times, or special days, as Christmas is for me. It's good to have extra special music, and even a greater measure of joy, perhaps, at these times.

If we are to "do our work as unto the Lord" all would be grand! But our daily lives get in the way! me included! (note to mommanator-think about that today!)
It's funny. If we try to sustain the level of worship and preparation, I wonder if we wouldn't be idolizing our own musical abilities rather than offering them in service to God.
These are good thoughts, folks. One thing that came to my mind that day, was that I was actually glad that it was not so. The reason being that we might have the "pews" filled for all the wrong reasons.
Still, we have a fine example of an offering of excellence, and a positive motivation to strive for improvement.

I love visiting NSC and worshiping with you all...it is so, well, worshipful!
I am imagining that is a small taste of what heaven will be like, only better without all the toil, it will just come naturally. I don't know that there is scripture to back me up, but that is just how I imagine it to be.

OC practiced his trumpet (the whole band practiced) over 15 hours for Easter service. He took time off work to attend special rehearsals. That certainly couldn't be done weekly. Plus, there is the risk of too much emphasis being put on showmanship rather than worship.
It's really hard to sustain high levels of performance without significant time investment.
Like you, I'm grateful when I think of the time worship leaders put into preparation.
