being still

While I had a few days off, I was able to take the time so slowly meander through my own backyard. It was nice to be able to do that, and not have a pressing need to rush off and do this or that.

.

At first glance, there was nothing going on back there, but after lingering long enough, I adjusted to a near stillness and could see that activity abounded.

.

This grasshopper is camouflaged so well that I would have normally missed it. I probably would have stayed out there longer, but it was so HOT outside that I could hear my brain sizzling!

Just proves a point my friend, slow is better than rush, you will find this when a little older, when you can slow down.

Love it.

The World is speeding up.

Don't need sizzled brains, but nice to slow down enough to see the subtle things.

Sometime we need to slow down in order to see things. Live can be and sometimes is such a rush. A great find Craver.

Being still is one of my favorite scriptures!

Craver: That was a neat shot. It was the hot air that made you go back inside.

Thanks for the suggestion Happyone. I participated in Sky Watch Friday and Today's Flowers, but it was too much for me, so I had to stop. :-(

There is a time and a season for everything under the sun, Imac. I definitely enjoy pulling back from rushing so that I can "smell the roses," ...or in this case, look for bugs.

Gaelyn, it was sizzling like a fajita platter inside my skull, with smoke billowing out of my ears. ;-)

It can be tricky to find the right balance Joan. I hope to make wise decisions.

Lime, I tried to do the same thing, but the tie-dye shirt gave me away. I still owe you a picture, don't I? I'll try to get one within the next two weeks, okay?

That is a popular one, Mommanator. Here is Psalm 46 if anyone wants to see it in context. The phrase will be found in verse 10.

Oh boy Fishing Guy, it was like standing inside a kiln!

I agree with you about the heat. It's been really hot here too, especially last week, but we avoided the worst of it as we were away on vacation by the ocean. Wonderful! I hate it when my brain sizzles.

The camouflage is great! :)

Yes, it's amazing how much we can see when we slow down and really look.
