After the shot, I cleared away a few flowers, took my little volunteer by the hands and carefully let her out of the pile. I thought I was all done, but to my delight, her baby sister reached out for me to place her in the same spot. It melts my heart to have a baby reach out to me. I gladly obliged, and now her family will have TWO special pictures of their precious little girls!Wednesday, April 04, 2012
spring bouquet
There is a project going on where several people are making these giant paper flowers. The blossoms are temporarily being piled in an office corner. I walked through that area and do you know what ran through my head? Do you remember the movie E.T.? There was a scene where E.T. was hiding in a closet full of toys and stuffed animals. I thought about placing a little girl inside all these flowers with only her head poking out... kind of like E.T. I called on some friends and they said I could borrow their daughter for the shot. Here's what I got.

love the colors!
WOW! Super idea! I bet the parents appreciate the photos very much!
Such a cute idea. : )
Sweet! I remember that scene.
When my daughter was in middle school their violin group went to Busch Gardens. We had given her spending money. She brought back one of these huge paper flowers for me. Talk about your heart melting. :)
Yeah Mr. Dave. I'm in debt to those folks who put all that time and effort into creating the flowers.
I sure hope so, CameraGirl. They're neat people and it makes a nice "just because" kind of gift.
Thanks Happyone. I was glad for the opportunity. Plus, this one was effortless, compared to some of the prep work that is needed on other ideas that come along.
Heart melting indeed, Carletta. What a thoughtful daughter you raised! Thanks for sharing such an encouraging recollection. I love to see children transition to the point of selfless giving.
This is a marvelous photo, and I'm glad the baby sister wanted her picture taken as well. I'm sure the family is going to treasure both of those photos.
There's nothing quite like the hand and smile of a child, Craver.
The photo is beautiful...full of colors of spring.
I hope that you and your family have a blessed and happy Easter.
Hugs,
Jackie
I wouldn't expect anything else from a Holy-friendly-photographer Craver,lol.

A great display.
Your blog is the first that I have managed to find that is up to date. Too many were abandoned years ago. I will leave my 'calling card' hoping that you will return this visit.
You will find me here at any time that is convenient to you. http://zl1aqkiwi.blogspot.co.nz/
what an adorable photo, craver.
thanks for brightening my day!
have a great tuesday!
She is a beauty among the flowers! Beautiful picture of a beautiful girl!
George, the baby sister's reaction made my day. She's newly adopted, and her reaction suggests to me that she feels secure with my friends.
That little hand serves to remind me of my high calling, Jackie. It reminds me of who I represent. He is Risen!
Thank you kindly, Imac. I attempted a project this weekend, and it would have been great if you were nearby, to offer your counsel.
Hello Kiwi. I wish I could post as often as I used to. I used to put something up two or three times a week, and I could afford to visit other blogs much more. I miss being able to do that.
Your words of encouragement go a long way, Betty. I hope you receive as much sunshine as what you share. :-)
Oh absolutely, Chris. She is missing a tooth, and she was my number-one choice for this idea. If I had it to do over again, I think I would have configured a snoot on the flash to bring her face out just a little more.
too cute! that was a very fun idea!
